So what should the response be? How much credit should he get?

I assume you watched the game...was that a good performance? I think what people (for the most part) are saying is that yes he is contributing, but he isn't the sole reason they are winning, which is what is being fed to people.

The thing about it though, and it's all stuff that can't be proven one way or the other, but it sure as hell seems like the team in general is playing more inspired football. With the exception of the Detroit game, they are playing with 100% more confidence and that has to have something to do with them thinking the guy playing QB can help them win.

Quite simply, how many teams change QBs, trade their best receiver, install an offense that most think will never work in the NFL, and win 7 of 8 games? It's a pretty remarkable story.

It will completely overshadow the Texans winning 10 games in a season where Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, and Matt Schaub have played exactly 4 quarters together.

they wouldn't be winning without him, so I guess he deserves credit. A leader of men.....

I think they have been the recipient of some terrible play by the teams they are playing against. The Bears gave away that game and so did the Jets a few weeks back. Does that mean he isn't contributing? Of course not. But it's all overkill and I'm as guilty as anyone else because I'm participating in it.

Winning certainly helps the team morale and confidence. Those are definite intangibles Tebow brings and he's a very good runner.

I assume you watched the Texans game today. I caught the last quarter after I turned the Jets game off. That was a hell of a comeback by a rookie QB, on the road no less without his best receiver. No one cares. Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers are having all time seasons for QB's. No one cares.

it's a nice story, but I'll ask you the same question I asked Coach, what should the response to all of this be?

I didn't think Kubiak was going to let TJ Yates finish the game because Delhomme was supposedly warming up shortly before halftime. Luckily he had faith and let him work things out. All in all he had a pretty good game and made some great decisions in crunch time. It's a baptism by fire in the NFL and he's doing OK for now. Their last 3 games are Car, @Indy, and Ten, so they should be no worse than 12-4.

The Tebow stuff will only be ramped up even more now, and I had basically envisioned next week would be their biggest test of this lengthy stretch. We'll see what happens.

i think they should be allowed to show that it's the 4th quarter the entire game. it's inexplicable that he plays like dogshit the first 3 q's, but pulls it out in the last. but, it's entertaining for sure-a lot of people are getting a kick out of it.
well, except for whoever denver is playing that is...

don't they play new england next week? wash took advantage of a porous defense today to score a much higher than average amount of points for them.
now, brady is playing well. went over 200 passes w/out an int before finally throwing a pick today.

I think it's sort of how people react when passing a car crash on the road...they slow down and try to see what's going on. I've generally been on the support Tebow side of internet debates, but the stuff that's gone on in his games can get beyond ludicrous as today it was simply Marion Barber running out of bounds. That's all it was....well the fumble helped too! He was terrible the first 3 quarters but to be fair did have a few drops, one that could have been a TD to Thomas. He's made 11 NFL starts. Football wise I think you have to give him some credit. The hype for next week's game is going to reach unbearable levels I believe with Brady going to Denver.

trent differ at least won a super bowl and no one talked about his "intangibles".

it has nothing to do with being contrarian. it just not falling head over heels in love with the wrong person.

Brad Johnson always gets the shaft when people start the Dilfer stuff. He was a winner too! It's like he's completely ignored. What about freaking Brad Johnson people...Brad Johnson.

I think people are giving him credit (6-0 is impressive no matter who you played during that span), they just aren't gushing to the embarrassing levels that the media is.

i understand. but johnson was a demonstrably better (i use the term loosely here) qb than dilfer. absent "intangibles" of course.

if you want to make the point that a team win doesn't equal qb skill, who do you use? the guy with 166 td's and 122 int's in his career or the guy with 113 td's and 129 int's?

there's a reason no one remember's brad johnson. it's name is trent differ.

The second half he looks like a legit NFL QB. He looks comfortable and the balls he throws look fine. I still dont get why there has to be a 3/15 with 1 interception start though.
Honestly though I think hes going to make it, hell hes already made it. This team has no skill position talent around him. Best WR traded, first round draft pick RB a few years ago hurt. If you put talent around him this team could be OK, especially in that division.

Anyone who has ever played football should totally understand what is happening.

The Tebow's have a fullback playing quarterback.

It's easy to stop Tebow's offense for 3 quarters because he sucks horribly as a passer and a sundial could time his delivery.

By the midway point of the 4th quarter... the defense wears down, the pass rush is comically non existant, wide recievers are running around wide open all over the field.

The Detroit Lions beat the living hell out of the Denver Tebow's because they have a good defensive line and because they rotate fresh defensive players A LOT through the game!

As long as the Tebow's don't turn the ball over in the first 3 quarters and as long as the Denver Tebow's play great defense -- they have a worn out defense with no pass rush at all waiting for them in the 4th quarter.

Also -- The Denver Tebow's have the Jesus factor because they prey the hardest of any NFL team and Jesus Christ is the NFL's one true lord and saviour.

Kordell Stewart went 12-1 with the Steelers -- but they acutally tried to make him throw it and didn't run enough option for him.

If Kordell just ran the option, handed off to big Jerome Bettis a whole lot, and prayed to Jesus a whole bunch... the Steelers probably would have never lost a game with him.

The Steelers lost the AFC championship game at home to the Pats by 7 because Kordell threw 3 INT's and 0 TD's.

The Steelers had a fullback at QB and another fullback (Bettis) at Halfback ... and they blew it by asking Kordell to thorw.

For the record ... Kordell Stewart looks like Dan Marino in his prime throwing the ball compared to Tebow. Which is probably why the Steelers insisted on him throwing the ball ... and why the Bronco's don't allow Tebow to throw very much until the defense is spent and they need to.

But, if it wasn't for another dynamite performance by the defense, they lose the game. Tebow was great late in the 4th nd OT, he just has to hope that the defense continues to keep them in games.

all Tebow does is credit his teammates and say that his teammates make him look better than he does. Its the media that piles it all on Tebow.

Prater deserves the game ball for this one. and Tebow was not nearly as bad as his first 3 quarter stats look. they had a short FG blocked. At least 5 passes bounced right off the recievers hands. one would have been a very long TD pass. His WR's looked totally inept the first 3 Q's.. but to their credit, they and the whole team come through in the clutch. Tebow did have a good 5-10 passes that missed the target by like 10 yards... but in that 0-11 stretch in the game, there were 4 or 5 obvious drops.

I dont get why people hate on Tebow unless they are a Raider/Chiefs/Chargers fan. all the guy does is come through when it counts.

He put on a superb performance in the 4th quarter and overtime.

The first three quarters were mistake filled and defense dominant by both teams.

who cares that he only gets in done in the 4th quarter.. that's when it actually matters. You can't say that about a lot of more talented players in the league. Tebow has the most 4th quarter passing yards than anyone in the league since week 7. That's impressive.

Because he sucks and he's an annoying Christer.

The Caleb Hainne/Marion Barber Bears just lost at home to the Tyler Palko Chiefs last week.

He needed a miracle to beat the 2-10 Vikings two weeks ago.

He's played two OK teams -- the Detroit Lions beat him 45-to-10. The Jets got Sanchez'ed when they had the game in hand.

If Tim Tebow was Tebowing to Allah no one would be calling him a winner. It would be how the Broncos are winning despite the fact that the terrorist quarterback sucks.
