Baltimore beat them in Baltimore in Week 6 in a game that Houston was winning during the third quarter. If you think that's an accurate predictor for an easy Baltimore win in January, I don't know what to tell you.

If they had Schaub they were my Super Bowl choice but Yates will get exposed, IMO.

Schaub's importance to that team was overstated. Their strength isn't throwing the ball, it's a great running game and defense. Tate and Foster are the best 1-2 punch in the NFL, and they have a bunch of playmakers on defense finally playing up to potential under Wade. That's why they were able to withstand the Andre Johnson injury. Yates isn't terrible. They're really good.

Yes I do. Like I said earlier though, Im a hardcore Pats fan but I dont think we are beating the Ravens this year. The D sucks and we dont have a vertical threat. If we did get by Baltimore I really dont think we can beat GB. The Texans will be 1 and done in the playoffs. Even if your Jets play them, I dont like there chances. Pittsburg is banged up, and they barley beat us in Pittsburg, the gap is close. New Orleans is good, but they wont beat Green Bay anyway. Same goes for San Fran.

The NFL is all about match-ups. To say who is one and done before you see who they are playing is silly. New England would be a tough out for Baltimore who can't spread the field to take advantage of their awful secondary. Only Green Bay is above match-up concearns this year.

Danzig 12-12-2011 02:34 PM

if houston meets denver, they won't be one and done. and i think they can handle the pats.

I think I said that in the thread where I said the Pats are in trouble this year because A. Baltimore is legit and B. even if we beat Baltimore, Green Bay is playing out of this world football.

Serious question. Lets assume Baltimore and New England get the first round week off. Pittsburg in Denver and your Jets at Houston. Are you saying Houston will beat the Jets?

Yes. I'd much rather play the Broncos or even the Pats than the Texans though the former is obviously unlikely.

Danzig 12-12-2011 02:36 PM

i seriously doubt the pats make it to green bay...

You know Im a Jets hater, but I think the Jets could go in there and win. That QB vs your D plus an injured Johnson would be the recipe for a Jets W. I cant believe your saying you would rather face NE then the Texans. Lets see the Texans do something in the playoffs with a rookie QB, and banged up superstar WR and a team of guys who have never been here before.

Of course to Denver, but maybe to NE. They were the worse looking 7 pt winner I saw yesterday, but still think in the playoffs I'd rather face Yates than Brady, no matter what the other pieces of the equation look like.

Pats or Ravens IMO. This just feels like the Ravens year. They beat the good teams, stuggle with the bad teams. They are about as healthy as you can be going into the playoffs and unless the choke they will have at least a bye if not home field throughout.

My point was counting Houston out in the first game before you know who they will play is silly. My other point is Baltimore's strengths do not take advantage of NE weakest areas and NE's tight ends will give Baltimore nightmares. Lastly Green Bay is going to be tough to beat, in the NFC I think the Giants might have the best chance to beat them if they make the play-offs.

Brady has looked awfully ordinary in the playoffs since the Super Bowl loss. And Houston is so much better than them at just about every other position, I'd still rather face New England. Especially considering familiarity and that we've gone into their building and beaten them in January once already.

Not having Andre Johnson has not hurt the team nearly as much as people who don't watch their games think it would.

I mean this whole thing is ridiculous. No sh.it the NFL has the best players in the world. What does that have to do with anything? Some are better than others. Some teams are better than others. Is a win against the Packers the same as beating the Colts right now? Of course not. But by your logic, it is because of how good NFL players are.

by himself? You apparently don't read because all I've said is the defense is the best part of the team.

The breakdown you did was just excuse after excuse. it didnt deserve a reply.

No, the Bears are obviously better with Cutler and Forte. But Caleb Hanie didnt play that bad. Barber ran for over 100 yards and one TD. sure, he made two bonehead plays.. but Forte could have fumbled just like Barber. Tebow still threw for 160 plus yards at the end of the game. I didnt see Urlacher hurt so you cant make an excuse for that either.

by my logic 7-1 is great in the NFL no matter who you play. Its funny.. all of the talking heads on ESPN and NFL network stopped using the competition arguement because they know its dumb. But nerdy trail analysts are smarter than former players and coaches obviously.

You dont think it will hurt in the playoffs? Since when do teams with rookie QB's and injured superstars make deep playoff runs? Am I making this up?

Not worried about: Dallas, Atl, SF (Overated I think), Detroit, Chicago
Concerned about: NO
Worried about : NYG

Giants and Dallas will finish the rest of the season 1-2

Eagles will finish 3-0.

Eagles own the tiebreaker (since they've only played competitively against NFC East teams) and get into the playoffs at 8-8.

:wf

not likely.. but a girl can dream, right?

I think of all the crazy last minutes stuff he has been involved in, I think this win was the least about Tebow and the most about the game being in Denver ( I'm sorry..you don't airmail 70 yeard field goals anywhere else), the horrible coverage played by the Bears (Curtis Painter could have completed those) and yes, the incredible stupidity of one Marion Barber. I'll reluctantly give Tebow his due for Minnesota and maybe, maybe even the Jets (it would be more credit worthy if he had returned Sanchez's pick for a TD himself) but yesterday was not about Tebow rather than everything else.

you are right 100%

Prater deserves the game ball and the defense is the reason they've been winning. Brian Dawkins is one of my all time favorite football players. Von Miller is a beast. That D is just good. but you can't completely disregard how good Tebow is in crunch time. If he played all 4 quarters like he does in the 4th he'd have some of the best stats in the league.

A bit surprised considering their play of late, excluding yesterday of course

Archive
The Miami Dolphins fired coach Tony Sparano on Monday, a source confirmed.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross plans to hire Carl Peterson, former president of the Kansas City Chiefs, to fill the role of executive vice president of football operations once held by Bill Parcells.

Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland will stay on board in some capacity.
