leave the secret muslim, no birth certificate, he's a socialist stuff alone.

the right is so lost this is all they have. they're busy chatting back and forth reinforcing each other that it's working. there's no reason to clue them in otherwise.

god forbid they actually have an idea with traction.

Trouble is, not only the ultra-right wing extremist whackies keep bringing this back up (FoxNews, Rush Limbaugh this morning who made the God-Obama joke, two GOP Congressmen), the guy who tried to shoot up the Holocaust Museum today also believed Obama didn't have a birth cert. and shouldn't be president because of it (which is not why he wanted to shoot up the museum)

So if Obama is someday shot at by some rightwing whacko who thinks he's justified because of the lie about the birth certificate well-known public figures won't let alone and keep repeating, is Rush going to take some responsibility for throwing chum to the bottom feeders? Fox News?

I am extremely proud to be represented by a thinking man that, right or wrong, has the best interests of the people at heart. It was embarassing that we actually elected a guy, not once but TWICE, that doesnt believe in evolution. Think about that...and then consider why the media is so in love with this guy.

This is one of the more ridiculous assessments of the strengths of a President that I have ever seen.

The press is supposed to report the news, not give the masses what they want to hear. They are supposed to question politicians pointedly about the issues at hand instead of just drinking the cool-aid. That is what the two articles were about.

Just not being Bush isn't going to work forever.

Unemployment is at 9.4%. Remember when Obama and co said their plan would never allow it to get over 8%? You know like a few months ago? what about when it hits 10% +? Are we still gonna get puff pieces about Obama's new suit and good looks? When the dollar crashes and oil continues to rise and gas prices hit $3.50 a gallon you think he will still have a 62% approval rating? There a lot of people in this country that are very much against this regime and birth certificates, race, and religion have nothing to do with it.

You got links on that Chuck? I'm not doubting Obama ever said it but anyone with a brain knew it was reaching 10% with the lag on unemployment after a recession so it seems a bit uncharacteristic for him to say something that dumb.

Honu 06-10-2009 11:14 PM

Really who gives a frogs fat azz how the press blows sunshine up the presidents azz , I dont , I have long stopped caring what the talking heads say and have been more interested in what is happening in our country.
I think that alot of Americans are on some polyanna high , consumed with the talking and the speeches which is fine if it keeps you going.
I really dont care about all the blabber and azz kissing and saying we are a sorry azz nation for being a tough guy , I want to see America back to being the productive giant we used to be without all the crutches that the federal government would like to offer us. Its time for Americans to get innovative and off their azzez and prove what we are made of , we are not a country made of government bailouts and government handouts , we are crafty Americans and we need to remember that .

LOL - where did I "defend Obama"? In your imagination?

When I asked why the GOP being impotent as an alternative-party check and balance is Obamas fault?

Or when I wondered why the writer was asking for the press to be skeptical rather than objective?

He says a lot of dumb things. He just says it with charisma!!! I distinctly recall one of the lackeys saying that his "stimulus" plan would "create" enough new jobs to keep unemployment levels below a high water mark of 8%. I wont bother to look up a link because the libs here will just blame Bush anyway. While it is an opinion piece (and yes Dala the WSJ is a reasonable source) this op-ed spells out more of the blueprint behind the Obama regimes plan.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124467627264104053.html

The main political question now is when Americans will start to figure out Mr. Obama's pattern of spend, repent and repeat. The President is still sailing along on his charm and the fact that Americans are cheering for an economic recovery. But eventually they'll see that he isn't telling them the truth, and when they do, the very Blue Dogs he's trying to protect will pay the price. And they'll deserve what they get.

The press ISNT being objective!!! That is the point of the columns! Both articles were referring to the lack of objectivity in the press especially compared to previous administrations including both Democrats and Republicans. They are simply giving him a pass, even when he contradicts himself. The GOP's status has nothing to do with the posted links.

That has nothing to do with your quote that you attributed to him. Are you just making **** up now like you are Timmy or did he really say that boneheaded line about the unemployment rate?

Just about everyone agreed before the election that in a recession you have to spend money at the federal level and run a deficit so that the states can attempt to balance their budgets. It is the way it has always been in recessions and the way it will always be in recessions regardless of who is in power. Anyone remember Bush starting the bailouts? Now suddenly it is entirely Obama's idea. Like McCain would be cutting the budget now and letting us bleed to death. Obama is not perfect, and the Democrats in Congress are pretty much worthless, but please just step down from your pulpit and realize that spending more in a recession is necessary to get us out as it always has been. Let's focus on the real issue which is where this money is going. And that is where Congress is ****ing everything up. If we could all just stop being partisan let's just look at the mess of officials on both sides that are taking money for their own special interests and suddenly we'd realize that this whole two party system with all the gerrymandering is not working. But the constant villainization of Obama by the right when I feel like he is the only one on the left that is trying is upsetting.

[quote=Cannon Shell]There a lot of people in this country that are very much against this regime and birth certificates, race, and religion have nothing to do with it [quote]

And that's fine. Start that discussion.

But you know what isn't fine? Anybody in this country tolerating or ignoring the stupidity, the constant public repeating of lies by people with celebrity or in the public eye, the whipping up of hate about religion and Muslims and Pastors of a certain color.

You get mad about the press being too kind? How about the press being too extreme?

Why is untrue nonsense being brought up or implied - month after month - by major outlets like Rush Limbaugh and FoxNews?

Ignore the truely crazy internet bloggers - the racists and the white supremicists.

How about a candidate for Vice President of the United States saying another candidate "pals around with terrorists"? How about when an old woman tells a Presidential candidate that the other candidate is "a Muslim"?

We've already had an abortion doctor killed, and today someone tried to blow away those he hated in Washington.

Go read some history about what was said about John Kennedy in the national and Dallas press, regarding his birth, his religion, his politics before he got his head blown off in Dallas.

Unfortunately, that assassination wasn't a surprise. Kennedy was warned it was unsafe to go to Dallas. There was overt hate in the newspapers, on the radio, preached by some religious leaders and politicians - it was, just like it seems to be today, "socially acceptable" to say it and write it.

What's scary is that is the same hate innuendo and lies that public outlets like Limbaugh and Fox News spew and try to whip up daily now about Obama.

Even Sheppard on FoxNews just today said it's gone too far and it's getting scary.

One can't whip up hate and lies and say it's okay talk about, that's our freedom and rights as Americans - oh, but we draw the line at violence. Bullsh-t

No offense, but it's we "crafty Americans" - not our government - that got ourselves into this financial mess.

Instead of defending Obama, perhaps you should look a little deeper at his agenda and what it means to you in the future. The special interests are a disgrace but there are chilling proposals that are on the table.

Ahem...it was the government allowing corporations to go offshore to tax havens and also it was the government that created all of the free trade agreements that let good paying jobs go overseas with hardly any new good paying jobs to replace them.

That helped spur the faux housing boom because there was absolutely nothing else going on to fuel the economy.

So f.uck the government and the new buffoon running it. Just because he replaced a festering turd doesn't mean he's much better.

Riot 06-10-2009 11:54 PM

>>> The press ISNT being objective!!! That is the point of the columns!

Gee! No kidding? Not only did I obviously "get that point", because I then went beyond it by discussing the writers suggested solution. You know, when I pointed out that I found it interesting that the writer opined that he wanted the press to shift to being skeptical rather than objective?

Did I ever "defend Obama"? Nope.

I tried to have a discussion about the "new" role of the press after posting columns from far from right wing sources and now we have JFK was unsafe in Dallas because of religious leaders and politicans??? Oh boy.
