Overrated is Lawyer Ron

Underrated is Invasor

Overrated: Lawyer Ron- just never was very fast by the figures

Underrated: Showing Up- though he is gaining respect, what he was able to do on a short schedule in the spring and then the overwhelming win on turf are indicators of a very high class colt.

I almost thing Brother Derek is underrated today as opposed to being overrated a couple of months ago. He is being totally dismissed by everyone and I still believe he has some good days ahead.

1.) Let's see Lava Man outside of California.

2.) I like Flower Alley a great deal but will take a wait and see with his soundness.

3.) UAE Derby? Wow... Maybe you hadn't noticed while you were waiting the 7 months for Flower Alley to run, but Invasor has just that the lone loss in his career. Why doesn't that standard apply to Flower Alley's career record? Did he even get close enough to Afleet Alex to know the color of his tail?

TOTALLY agreed re: BD. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Good response. I like your "know the color of his tail" line better than my "seemes like he was in another race" line.
And the answer, is of course, no. As far as I am concerned, Afleet Alex was certainly better than either of these horses. I am not saying that I think Invasor is a bad horse. I am just saying that he is overrated. I do not think he beat very much in those last two wins, and I like Flower Alley's races in last year's Travers and BC Classic better than anything I have seen from Invasor. Of course we will not know for sure until they (hopefully) face off at Saratoga, but I like Flower Alley's chances.

(I guess this is my 'bold prediction' that didn't make it to that thread last week...)

I hope Mr. Byk stuck to his guns. I remembered this the day he said it and I surely loved Invasor today.

Hopefully this is not salt in the wounds if he let the irrational Bernardini crowd talk him out of such a bold prediction made 4 months ago.

Brilliant prediction.

Over rated: I'm tempted to say Bernardini because of his loss today, but the fact remains this horse NEEDED to be challenged. For his sake, I'm sure they had hoped it happened in another race. If Bernardini takes the tracks again, he will be a better horse because of what happened today. With his talent and ability he will be a very good champion horse, but no super horse. The true over rated horse this year was Lava Man. Don't get me wrong, he is a great story and he is dominant in Cali, but outside his element he's not even average. They should have a match race anywhere but Cali between Lava Man and Funny Cide, just so FC can win one. I'd also throw Tagg's two year old in this, Nobizlike Showbiz or whatever the 'eff his name is.

Under rated: The Tin Man. Need I say more? Just keeps knocking at his age, winning the Arlington Million. You NEED to give credit there. Just a great game horse. Vastly under rated. Not saying he's a globe wide talent, but just a game fighter.
