This was first done by AP Carter.

This seems to be his family band that he started, may not be the exact original....but it's awful.

It could be worse. Gloria Estefan might take a crack at Enter Sandman.

A really awesome cover of a mediocre song-

I don't know what band did it, but I heard a cover song the other day at work for Def Leppard's "Photograph" off the amazing Hysteria album. Bamboo shoots under my fingernails would have been less painful.

Many of you guys may be aware of this already, but Johnny Cash covering Nine Inch Nails "Hurt". I really like the original, but Cash covers it really well.

Oh wow pmayjr.,,, that Cash cover is gonna be hard to beat. Love both versions, esp. Cash's remake. I have a few I'd like to share when I haven't been up for 24 hours working and just killed a bottle of wine! (and cheap wine too!)

A few of you may immediately know the cover once you see/listen to the original. I think this is a really good cover, because the singer really pours his heart into it in the last part of the song. I wish the actual video of the cover was available on YouTube, but I could only find an audio clip.

I don't even like Bluegrass music that much, but Trampled by Turtles are really fun live. I recommend seeing them if you're in your neck of the woods.

Speaking of Bluegrass music (once you see what the original is you should click on the cover lol).

Wherever I go, there I am!

Grammatically at least I'm patting my self on the back for knowing the difference between you, your and you're. But I should probably start re-reading what I type.

They are fun live though.

The first one is a really nice cover for such a great song.

I'll go with the Gary Jules version of Mad World.

Ever heard Adam Faucett?

pmayjr 10-19-2012 01:58 AM

I highly recommend you guys look up PS22 Chorus on youtube and check out the many amazing covers that they do. My favorite has always been this one-

Gosh... another pretty obvious omission. I should've posted this a long time ago but it slipped my mind. You guys will probably question how the cover could be possibly better than this original? But I do think the lady does a great job with the cover.

I could actually do a bunch of different ones for Bird and the Bee. They actually released a whole Hall and Oates tribute last year.

Another omission that I'm sure a lot of you will scoff at, but I've always loved this cover of the awesome original
(this cover in the 90s actually was very famous in it's own right)-

I'm embarrassed I never knew that cover was by the Sundays. "Here's Where the Story Ends" was one of my favorite songs for years.

pmayjr 07-12-2013 08:34 PM

Blasphemous, but I knew of the cover long before the original. I mean I didn't know it was a cover until a couple years ago lol.

By the way, when looking this up, Guns n Roses, Bush, and Alicia Keys ft Adam Levine (from Maroon 5) have all done pretty shitty covers of this song lol.

pmayjr 07-23-2013 08:30 PM

So guys... I think this song definitely qualifies, because I know a lot of you guys hate all this cheese-dick trancey/dancey music that's hitting the airwaves these days. Admittedly, I like a lot of it (it's a guilty pleasure, and I'm usually out partying at clubs when I should be up studying the DRF for the next days races lol). I've seen Kaskade a couple times and it's a fun, high-energy show that he puts on.

Guys... I'm being serious with this one. And I deserve all the grief that you wanna give me, but in my opinion Bruno Mars has one good song-
"When I was your Man"
Gimme all the **** you want for that, but if Justin Timberlake is a guilty pleasure for a lot of you, liking a Bruno Mars song isn't that much of a stretch from that. So ok. Original-
