More a matter of attrition - Chelsea is still a tire fire, Man U is bloated with payroll and little chemistry, Leicester lost a big piece of their success with N'Golo Kante going to Clelsea, Everton in my opinion did nothing to imporve and actually weakened themselves letting one of the top defenders in the league go off to Man City (and replaced with exactly whom?)

replaced with the guy who captained Wales to the Euro semi-final, Ashley Williams.

Everton's got the fresh coach, former Southhampton boss, and i think mgt is tired of sitting mid to lower half on the table.

oh, and how sh!t trickles down hill, Stones bolts for City and Everton picks off the Swans best defender, Ashley Williams, 2 days before the season, o'lay

I expect Liverpool to be top 4. Outside of that I'm not predicting where they finish.

The lighter schedule should be to their benefit. The main groan this off-season has been the lack of an additional left back. I truly believe Klopp is being hard-headed with Moreno and is out to prove a point. Whether that point proves to be a good one or a horrific one remains to be seen.

Kid plays like a donkey most days.

Pants II 08-16-2016 04:52 PM

Remember that Anfield is getting an additional 8500 or so seats this season.

Check it...

Two trends I didn't want to see from last season carried over...

Bulls.hit injuries (Mane)

Losing to bulls.hit teams (Burnley)

The only positive I take from this week is Benteke is gone and Karius is recovering quickly.

I can't stand to watch Mignolet in goal much longer. He's the worst.

Would be nice to get 3 points tonight.

Future is bright. The off-season moves have helped tremendously.

Losing Benteke and Balotelli :tro:

The owners don't either but think they do.

This is the type of move that can get a team relegated. Ridiculous and a slap in the face to the team and former manager.

Brian your club is a tire fire. The good news is Sunderland belongs in League One. You only need to stay above 2 others. I'd hate to lose the only Welsh squad left at the top.

I have a feeling Crystal Palace is going to be hovering between 4-7th most of the season.

Bendonkey is a big get for them.

Agree - and also helps that they are a very cool club. American football cheerleaders, loud music, rowdy fan base, etc....a lot of fun to watch them pre-match.

I'm shocked at how poorly West Ham has come out, and how poorly their new stadium is being received. Still time to turn it around, but don't think anyone expected them to be where they are at the outset.

i had palace getting religated. Pardew sticks around just long enough to get the worst out of his players.

I'm also shocked how bad West Ham has come out, especially with the money they spent during the transfer.

what about some love for my Everton selection??!?!?!?!

Pants II 10-03-2016 04:33 PM

If Swansea finish 17th then Bradley was the right decision.

The problem is most of the fans (as far as I can tell) wanted Giggs.

Last season with Liverpool was brutal and they made a similar move. Albeit with a far more proven manager. Was still tough to watch.

that was the majority of the people in Wales.
Even if he was a great player, hard to bring a guy like him, with no head coaching experience and say here, wer're in 17th, dig us out of this hole. He's either the GOAT or gone before the season ends.

Interested to see what bradley does, but the owners need to start spending some F;ing money. I saw an article that 3 teams actually MADE money during last transfer, and the Swans were one of them (everton and southhampton were the others).

West Ham being West Ham - Spurs remain unbeaten. :tro:

And what the hell has happened to Swansea City this season? Can't blame this all on Bradley - They're on dangerous ground.

You can't sell your best players every year. If they are not buyers in January, relegation is a serious possibility..

they give up the tie in the 90th minute after just being bombarded the entire 2nd half. They have one of the worst back lines in the EPL, which is a result of selling their captain, Ashley Williams to Everton during the transfer.

During the transfer they throw a whole bunch of cash in getting two Spanish forwards/strikers.....WHO THEY DON'T EVEN START! The same transfer in which they were one of 3 teams to actually MAKE money. The American's (Levin, etc.) were supposed to hit the ground running and be spending money, they're the ones who got all the fans all riled up with their deep pockets talk, but when push came to shove, they kept the money instead of spending. This team at one point and time was owned by a community or town trust, and now they're in the hands of Corporate Americans, and look at the results.

Also, you got guys like Ki just going through the motions but he finds his way on the field every week. Fernandez and Rangel shouldn't be playing EPL futbol period, but they're back line regulars.

time will tell, if they're not one of the most active teams during the transfer then mgt is content with relegation, which will cost them millions on EPL TV revenue. At the end of the day, you have to spend money to make money.

That should be a consideration for automatic relegation.

Swans vs. Palace

most entertaining game of the year, that's for sure.

If we weren't able to beat Pardew i would have said all is lost for the season/league. But, we dug in, and fed him what should be his walking papers at Palace.

First EPL win for Bradley, which just so happen to come the same week Klinsmann gets the axe from USA Soccer, coincidence, i think not, Brads knows Jurgy is probably coming for his job again.

He told magistrates he had no idea he had been drinking, even though he conceded his Diet Coke tasted odd, and although he felt “tired” he had not suspected he was tipsy.

He told the court that he had been to a house party where he had poured himself what he thought was Diet Coke from a jug, but later discovered it was mixed with brandy.

He had been the “designated driver” on the night of the party and drove his car with passengers in it, claiming he just felt tired, despite being double the drink-drive limit.

He told the court he thought his drink tasted different but only later found out he had been pouring himself a pre-mixed drink.

You've got Tom Carroll back...so....there's something :o

I think they know they're going down and trying to rebuild. They picked up a left back from Norwich City and someone else from France I think.. 3 moves thus far in the window seems they have an idea at least of what they need to get back up..

if that's the case, why spend any money, at all?
I think the Americans are digging deep to save face and keep this team up. Having said that, none of the rumors/news about additions have been earth shattering. But, they stand to get something from Chelsea WHEN Llorente is shipped off (thanks for being diego costa, diego costa). It's really a catch-22, you want to spend money and get (the best) players, but who wants to start for a relegation team when they can just ride pine for a cup winner, looking at you john terry. They have to cruise the lower levels and hope for a diamond in the rough.

on the bright side, their U-23 team has done well this year

You've got an impossible schedule from here on out including away games against Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea over the next 5 weeks and only two games left against a potential relegation side (Hull in March; Sunderland, in May).

Barring a miracle, it looks like you're going to need a ton of luck to stay up Bri

That was shocking to say the least. Spurs castoffs Carroll and Siguršsson providing the much missing Swan firepower early and gutty go ahead by Sig.

Safe to say no one say that result coming. wow.

The soccer gods did not appreciate your assessment of the swans, and this was the result Dan. TC42 might have been 5th team with spurs, but he factored in 2 goals yesterday for the swans.
Life almost came full circle for you when city went up 2-0, fortunate for you bravo is.........bravo otherwise y'all almost squandered what you thought was an easy 3 points
Happy to see palace and Sunderland did their part yesterday as well.

How about that arsenal game, wtf!?!?!?!?!,!
