Well, I think you should rewatch the race you lost in about two days. Look, I have had plenty of five out of sixes, and I know it sucks, but this wasn't a tough beat because of a bad ride. It's just unfortunate because so many things broke well for you earlier in the sequence.

At least you should get that 10-12 dimes for the conso;) .

uscrules 11-30-2006 06:16 PM

Whoa, was I way off or what. You got screwed Oracle. At the very least that should comeback 5 or 6 grand. My advice to you is start drinking heavily.

76K, ha. Alex Rodriguez makes more than that in 1 baseball game so dont feel bad partner.
What would you ave done with it anyways, lose it all back in 3 weeks time?
Get em tomorrow.

I completely disagree, and don't need two days to watch it.
I watched it and was on the phone with someone who was watching it and I saw what was gonna happen before it did. I hope he gets hurt, I really do.
He revved up his mount and went for a hole that was never there, and once she was stopped, she pinned her ears and said **** this.
Horses are not machines, and with many you can only get them revved up to roll one time in a race. They all can't be revved up twice.
If you watch the replay you can see thats shes moving better than the other horse before being stopped.

hoovesupsideyourhead 11-30-2006 06:21 PM

hopefully the guy who was on the phone watched it..he had no horse...

Did he have no horse before or after being stopped?
because before he got stopped he had plenty,
guy I was talking to said the same thing, as well as the track announcer.
he blew it.

You tend to think they are machines, an can stop and start at any point in a race.
Its just not so, when you wind one up like he did (she was much stronger than the 8 was) and then stop them cold, some of them will start the engine up for you again and some won't.
She was moving sweeter, and moving stronger, once she got stopped she chucked it.
he had plenty of horse.

Where did he have the trouble? I didn't even see the first part of the race. When I started watching the race, they were going into the far turn. He was sitting behind horses and looked like he might have some horse. When they straightened away in the stretch, he swung out into the clear but came up empty.

As I said, I only saw the final 7/16th of a mile. Unless he had some huge trouble the first part of the race, I don't think he had any excuses. If you call that trouble, then practically half the field has trouble in every race. Practically half the field is behind horses until they hit the stretch. When a horse comes up totally empty in the stretch, I don't know how you can complain about the ride. As I said, if you think that horse had trouble, then you probably think that close to half the horses you bet on had trouble.

uscrules 11-30-2006 07:34 PM

Just before they turned for home, the 8 and the 1 were virtually side by side, and when the 1 started to make its move the 8 horse was blocking him out. Brilliant ride by the jockey of the 8. He knew the horse to beat was the 1. He would have never made that much effort to block out a huge longshot. He knew what he was doing. I think it would have been a close battle between those 2 horses but ya never will know.

And your right, if you wish harm on people like that because of a stupid horse race, its time to think about quitting partner. Those ill wishes are going to come back in teh form of another bad beat, so if I were you I wouldnt bet for a while. My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

LOL!!
Bluto did give good advice, but I really don't like hangovers.

uscrules 11-30-2006 07:43 PM

Oracle, I am 27 and for the first time in my life I am starting to get hangovers. In college, we drank constantly, especially us that didnt start on the team. Coach Pete only really cared about the starters. He knew some of us like me drank 6 of 7 nights but didnt care. As long as I showed up for practice and spotted the hotshots in the weight room, I still got all the great perks USC gives their players. Suppose I could have been something at some small school but I dont regret playing in only about half the games.

SCUDSBROTHER 11-30-2006 11:15 PM

I only have a couple differences with Oracle about this play. For one, that 1 horse in the last race has a very bad attitude problem. She has had too many chances to keep playing. What do you call it when she settles for 2nd on 8-17?They collapsed right in front of her,and she was perfectly fine with getting a top 3 finish. No winning fight at all.On 9/28 she quit because of some tepid pressure, and that was on a track favoring where she was(the front end.)That is a ****,and she showed it again today. The 6 was the stand out in there. She had no shot for the win in her last 2 races. In both those races,PVAL was on rockets that were slumming at the level. She ran on well for 2nd in both of those races.I would have used the 8 filly as well, because I was worried she might freak on me(she does atleast try,and was claimed back by the 1st trainer.)It doesn't matter, because neither of us would of had guts to single in there. The 6 is the kind that you think can win,but you want something else in there.Cheap fillies are hard to single.

As far as the 7th race goes,Oracle's single had enough trouble last time to consider singling. My problem with her was the race before that.On October 8th,she looks to have made a winning move, and simply doesn't get it done late in that race.I think you said she had trouble in that race too? What was that? Main trouble I see is a hang, but maybe you thought she had moved on to a new level when she was blocked last race. You say that Silk Kerchief was getting a negative jock change? I don't agree with that.Arroyo just wasn't doing much in the last few weeks he was here, and you get 7 lbs. off with the improving Antonwhatever.I am not telling you she was a single either. This race was the reason I didn't mess with this bet today. Now as far as what took place in the race,to me,Espinoza has had 1 good day in the meet, and a lot of bad ones. You would have never got this **** for brains ride from him at Del Mar.He just seems to be somewhere else right now.Not close to his best.I don't think his ride in the 4th race was very good either. He never let that horse settle off the pace, and make a run.He was too impatient there. What happened in the 7th is what jocks have happen to them when they aren't really that confident. See ,horses have somebody on them making decisions for them.A poor decision results in getting stopped like that. When horses are fairly evenly matched(like in that 7th race,) poor jockey decisions will get a horse beat.I don't know if Oracle's single would have won that race,or not(cuz she hung on 10/8,)but she might have.Espinoza cost her a shot at the win,and it is totally normal for Oracle to despise the guy for about 36 hours. You got to be a f'n robot to not be pssd when a jock gets a horse stuck or stopped.Like I said though,he hasn't been riding very good of late. That's when this kind of sht decision occurs.

Crown@club 11-30-2006 11:22 PM

It was a horrible ride, Victor got the horse blocked. You can see the horse's head go straight up. It would had been a good stretch battle, if he didn't have to stop, and then restart when he finally had an opening.

eurobounce 12-01-2006 12:28 AM

Oracle, Forthewrongreason (1) in the 7th was much the best in my opinion. She was moving so wonderfully much better than Silk Kerchief (8). Two things I didnt understand...1) Why was the 1 so much closer to the pace today? 2) Why on earth did VE move so soon? You could see the jock on the 8 baiting VE to shoot for that tiny space. VE took the bait and the jock on the 8 moved his horse and closed off the 1. The 1 took up and that was all she wrote. If VE would of had the 1 back a little further then the he would of passed the 8 easily. The 8 freaking stuggled down the stretch. This field wasnt all that great and it took everything for the 8 to win. VE should be ashamed.

SentToStud 12-01-2006 06:39 AM

Forthewrongreason was in trouble from the 5/8's in. Unless she was already in the 2-path (wasn't) and unless her jock was going to make something happen (didn't) she was going to need to get lucky or be tons best (neither). I thought the horse got stopped pretty bad at the 1/4 pole and it was over then.

I can't say Forthewrongreason was/is better than than Silk Kerchief. But the horse got a lousy trip.

If you don't think the horse's trip cost her a 1-2 finish, then you've got to believe that Film Editor and Vatchvendetta are simply better fillies to outclose Forthewrongreason off that trip.

Yeah Stud I know, and Scuds, and Crown, etc.
Some people know how to watch races, some people think they do.
You'd think these guys would get if after a while, how often you see a horse get steadied or impeded in the lane, and then just stop.
Horses aren't all brave, and many of em will just say screw it when stopped and not restart the motor.
You learn to watch the ears, which tell you a lot about how a horse is feeling.
I got screwed. Anyone who coulnd't see that Victor had more horse and was tracveling sweeter, well they just have no hope and can't watch races.
Trying to use what she did after the fact is kinda funny, and moronic.
She got stopped and chucked it.
Its a shame, it really is.
