AC has a dullard for a trainer, and has a pretty decent chance of not drawing in.

For me, everything is pointing toward Soldat as the horse to beat, and looking at 15-1 or so:$:

I won on The 'Lude in the S.A. Derby, and fear him the most ('cause it would hurt so bad to have dropped him), but many of the experts on DRF, Bloodhorse, Brisnet and others suggest he's a big bet against.

The information synthesizer in my brain has been heating up big time, with what looks like a throwout race in the Fla Derby (evidenced by a huge speed fig anomaly), excellent workout news;would love a wet track; nice effin connections in my gambling book

I don't completely dismiss him, but it's hard to gauge him, since his 2 wins this year were with absolute dream trips, something he's guaranteed not to get in the derby. With his running style, I think he's going to need a lot of luck.

If there had been a messege board in 1973, I could only imagine what would have been said about Secretariat after the Wood. Of course, he did have a brilliant Gotham to fall back on as a 3yo while Uncle Mo has nothing.

I've been waiting and waiting for another horse to step up and take over the lead in this pathetic class but none have and so by default, I still go with Uncle Mo. To me, he was so far ahead of the pack going into the last that it's going to take more than the Wood to make me get off of him now. So it's with resignation that I chose Uncle Mo.

Making it sound like a death sentence, it's still the smart bet just better odds now.

Shackelford worked 58.8 Bullet best of 36... He has passed Uncle Mo on my list.

he's moved into my top 3, second behind Archarcharch.

i'm not really excited about any of the horses. i'll probably back archarcharch(rotten name, btw).

I am definately one of those lurkers. I enjoy reading the opinions and interpretations of most of the regulars here; they can be a little intimidating though. My pick is still Uncle Mo. I just wish he had a little more racing under his belt.
