Candy Ride ran down Special Ring on the grass in his race prior to the Pacific Classic. All Special Ring did after that was break the track record for 9 furlongs on turf at Del Mar in the Eddie Read in his next start.

But I'm supposed to believe Country Grammer is a serious horse because he ran in huge money purse races.

Ironically, Formal Gold had nearly the exact same start to his career as Flightline except he subsequently had both the 3yo & 4yo campaigns that the connections Flightline ought to have pursued.

Or perhaps Formal Gold should have pursued the career arc of Flightline so that everyone would be calling the latter "the best horse since Formal Gold".

No one thinks he's the best horse ever, but he was really, really good. Flightline is really, really good. Who knows how good.

The desire for people like Vic to make proclamations says more about them and their need to be important.

Stallion ads should be ridiculed by horseplayers, not proffered
