Summit Surge just ran the best race of his career...will he double up? Debussy does not class up to these and was still beaten by Summit Surge last time. Incredibly INEXCUSABLE ride by Dominguez. Tons the best and gets the horse beat. Guess he's only good at the save ground-last move ride on claimers.

I have been saying that for a while. When real money is on the line he doesnt deliver. However most people on this board thinks he is the greatest turf rider in the last 30 yrs

Buick cut it fine turned a near disastrous ride into a winning one - he is a smashing lad.. would have been fun to cheer him home with the Chicago guys in the stands :)

Just a question...did you actually watch the race?? On what planet is Gio Ponti tons better than Debussy today considering the winners issues?

Buick is an up and comer, he rode a blinder in the EP Taylor last year. I like this kid.

Thanks. . . Had the win, but Eclaire de Lune killed me too. So did the Lemon Drop Kid not getting up in the GIII.

Tazeez hopped in the air then swerved out at the start, spotted next to last almost two lengths, then was rushed up under Richard Hills to pass the entire field in the first quarter mile, settled on the rail, then sped up to run a 23.3 third quarter, was sent for home with three furlongs left, and despite all of this, was STILL beaten only 2.5 lengths. He did the most running.

Totally agree after his terrible start took him out of his game. Fine effort. Gosden came loaded this year. Congrats to him for finally getting the win in the MILLION. Class act. Congrats to all connected with Debussy. Probably pointed to the BC Turf at CD according to Gosden.

You guys are overrating his trouble at the start. It was no worse a trip than GP being 7 wide or Debussy being blocked the entire turn into the stretch.

You're not really trying to say that Tazeez and Debussy had comparably troubled trips are you? I really hope not, Debussy's trip was absolutely AMAZING.

He was taken out of his game, he wants to be forwardly placed and made the adjustment.

Wow. This is the exact opposite of pure genius. Have you watched the replay? Debussy waited for a spot to open at the top of the stretch...and it did. Pretty perfect in my eye. Gio Ponti angled wide at the midpoint of the far turn, he wasn't seven wide the whole way.

Both had easier trips than Tazeez, by far.

Debussy wins by 5+ if he is not blocked by slugs Quite a Handful and General Quarters on the turn. He was absolutely loaded but had to sit and wait. I wouldn't call any of their trips troubled either. My only point was GP and Debussy likely lost as many lengths as Tazeez did when he reared.
