I'm not gonna get all preachy here. I didn't stop eating meat / chicken / etc. till golfer bombarded me daily with horrible links and ;) ... ooops I I mean I stopped in January and I am no one to tell anyone else how to live.

The video talks a little about how they're gassed, the garbage bins, when exactly they stop being "cost effective"...

I think it's a lovely story. That's all. :)

:( poor hens. I get my eggs from either a friend who has free roaming hens or from this company:

Even if you don't care about animal welfare, they just taste better.

That little piggie is so cute. :o

Not to take away from the farm animals who do deserve more humane lives (to take a peek of what mass production looks like, clips from Food, Inc.: chickens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enwU5jIXSlU cows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkhdGG5pVW8 ), but this was announced today:

International March for Elephants (as well as a digital march and tweet) on October 4th:

http://www.iworry.org/

(petition towards the end of the home page as well)

What the poachers do to these beautiful, intelligent and sensitive animals is about the most brutal thing you will ever see. The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust http://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/ has a sanctuary where many of the orphans are raised after they have lost their mothers to poachers. Kristin Davis (from Sex and the City) has also begun a fund/campaign to raise money for DSWT: http://www.crowdrise.com/nopoaching/...r/kristindavis

What NOT to drink.

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine
and those who don't and are always
seen with a bottle of water in their hand:

As Ben Franklin said:

In wine there is wisdom,
In beer there is freedom,
In water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials,
Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink
1 liter of water each day,
at the end of the year we would have absorbed
more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria
found in feces.
In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop annually.

However,
We do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer
(or rum, whiskey or other liquor)
because alcohol has to go through a purification process
of boiling, filtering and fermenting.

Remember:
Water = Poop,
Wine = Health
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
than to drink water and be full of ****.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information:
I'm doing it as a public service

What not to eat

"I never drink water because of the disgusting things that fish do in it." - W.C.Fields

He also said, "I cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food."

most navies have alcohol on board, for off duty officers. but not the u.s. they used to give a ration a day to each sailor and soldier, but not any more.

That was neat.

Chipotle is my go-to when on the road. They not only are more responsible as to where their food comes from, but many of the locations donate to their local food bank each night (as does Panera).
