ok, 3 of the 10 are coming straight from a maiden claimer, that is not a angle i will touch.... 3-4 other's are just in bad form right now, to me the most likely winner is the #7 Knock Out Cat

I guess picking the Giants Causeway in the field because you have some kind of fettish for the horse is one way to handicap the race. I won't speak for Steve but perhaps he was looking for a little more...maybe some in depth thoughts about the race?

i do like giants casueway, but i dont bet my money on horses just because a horse is a giants causeway.
as for the little more, why dont you give something... rather then insult me, i gave my horse for the race. did you ? no you did not. you made a comment about me, which was pointless, and really no need for

Because it will take me more than 3 mins of looking at a PP to properly analyze a race and I don't have time right now. I plan to spend some time with it tomorrow. Some people actually want to watch past races and incorporate that into handicapping.

If you didn't pick the horse because he is a Giants Causeway what do you like about the horse? Do you expect him to improve big 2nd time out? Do you like the connections? Do you like that he overcame a tough trip to win? Do you like the pace scenario? I don't think the point of this thread is to just give out a pick.

Sinister for me at what I would think would be a nice price.

A featured event singled out where a discussion can unfold as to the pace scenario, contenders merits/faults, prospective odds and wagering strategies, etc.. By bringing up one specific event that everyone focuses upon, we could ideally help many better understand handicapping stategies/approaches. This 8th at CD is an ideal opportunity because you've got horses of the same age, with a perfect smattering of running styles, in various form cycles, coming together at the most fair distance there is...

Hard to say... But I'll take the 'over'.

What's so good about this race?

It's a very well-matched field. Should be an interesting betting race.

It's a very bad field. That's why it's well-matched.

Great Idea

I love this concept.

Won't comment much without watching replays, but NIOBRARA seems interesting to me on paper. Willing to toss the debut and the sloppy race after that. Seems to have figured it out a little bit now with the last 2 and with only 4 races under his belt, certainly eligible to move forward again. Should be a decent price as well.

Will try and watch some replays and possibly comment further.

Thanks again guys. Great idea and looking forward to reading others take on this race.

It's a N1X. Some here look forward going with upside and some will head for tags. That's part of the point of this. Identifying which are which.
