The three most meaningless words in politics used yet again.

Easy to take this ethereal "responsibility" when there are no consequences to be dealt with.

True :tro::tro: but my favorite is when someone says

"I'm not trying to sound high and mighty here"

While they are BEING EXACTLY that. Meaningless words...

Don't we separate these discussions into threads so we can treat them separately?

The discussion was meaningless words. Like when someone says "I don't mean to be rude" and then proceeds to be rude in the next sentence.

had clinton not said she took responsibility, i have no doubt a thread would have been started saying 'how dare she not take responsibility'.

Did she resign? Take a bump in pay for the bump in the road?

Of course not because she's not a 'stand by your man' kind of girl in words and something completely different in action.

I'm sorry but I see this as a very smart move.

She, unlike our President, understands diplomacy and this will be useful in the future if she decides to run again.

Obama is incompetent. This is something that could conceivably distance her from him in a future campaign.

What's the matter, you guys not like finding out that the President never actually said what has been alleged in the other thread and by the RWNJ sites?

Reality. It sucks.

What happened in Libya was a tragedy, but the scapegoating and created lies about what happened and how the administration dealt with it are baloney.

What about that evil youtube video? Inconvevient Untruth? After a month and then countless U.N. speeches? What about the big lie?

The fact is, the next day after the attack, the president attributed this to terrorists, but wanted to wait for the FBI. On Letterman, he didn't attribute it to the video, he attributed the attack to terrorists.

Which YouTube video (of the many posted about this) are you talking about, the original one about the Muslims?

As far as my original point in the thread goes, I don't really blame Hillary - it was just SO predictable that this would be the play.

"I accept responsibility blah blah blah..." And she (or anybody else put in this position) can only do this because there are no REAL comsequences.

Naw. I just want to go on record pointing out that Hillary said, long ago, that she absolutely will not continue as SOS Obama's second term (it will probably be Kerry, I'd guess).

Just want to mention it before the RWNJ fact-denying Obama Derangement Syndrome folks go crazy in a couple of months about how she was "forced out" or "quit in a huff" or "Bill is gonna get Obama" or something :D

I watched the real press conferences, Letterman, etc. of what the Pres actually said :D Not the lies spread by the RW loonies.

Not as much fun, but it explains why "Libya-Gate" is only a story-conspiracy in the Conservative Oz Fantasy Land. Of course, the RWNJ explaination for that is, of course: "Librul media sux and is covering up, they love Obama, and it's a big conspiracy to hide it."

Ah ... I'm just gonna enjoy these last few weeks, vote November 6. and enjoy 4 more years of non-neocon, non-evangelical, non-warmongering, non-crazy government.

Because all the tax cuts are gonna expire January 1 as we go off the cliff, the GOP will be then be held hostage to exactly what the Dems want to change, and Obama is gonna own the next four years of subsequent economic growth and prosperity.
