I'm in the process of trying a pick 4 array on the same races, but it doesn't reflect quite the same level of confidence in either Improbable or Game Winner. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out. |
Of course, if I like a horse, the vet does not.
Change to my ROI. R6... NO BET R7 .... $20 win #4 R11 .... no bet R8.... $40 win #9 |

My apologies to RQ for this Pick 4 mélange. I wanted to try to cover my "A"'s and include my "B"'s, but ran into a problem with Race 9. I simply am at a loss about whom to include or exclude in the Essex and ended up kind of throwing them up against the wall to see which ones would stick. I think I ended up making a case for every horse in the race, and then made the case against just about every horse in the race. The resulting wagers are messy. I'm sorry for making your scoring more difficult than it is.

We've been spoiled by Bob the last few years showing us amaaaaaaazing 3YO's. It's hard to get off his bandwagon but I don't see the same magic for him going into the thick of the Derby or TC this year . . . that said, I probably just gave him the back handed Irish Luck he needs with about 6 weeks or so to go!!! Ya just never know, do ya? |

I was amazed how closely the two races matched one another in their times. The second division was perhaps 0.20 seconds faster for the first two splits, while the first division ran a little faster through the next half mile. The final times of the two were within 0.07 seconds of one another. I think that both of them got a lot out of the race. How they perform in their respective final preps (one of them to the Ark Derby and the other, hopefully, to the Santa Anita Derby) will be the best yardstick. A question for all of you. Does anyone know how they came up with the name for Long Range Toddy? I've speculated that an owner had a grandson named Todd who is a terrific three point shooter, but that might be because I've been immersing myself in the NCAA Brackets as March Madness sets in. |
Feline Distorted Humor
PERHAPS THE HORSE LIKES TO DRINK ALOT AFTER LOSING...
AND GOT HOT AROUND THE COLLAR..... :zz: OR THE OWNER MORE LIKELY ;) The word "toddy" comes from the toddy drink in India, produced by fermenting the sap of palm trees. Its earliest known use to mean "a beverage made of alcoholic liquor with hot water, sugar, and spices" is from 1786. Hot toddy - |

'' Thank you for the definition of a toddy, ***but how in the world does that mesh with the "Long Range" part of the name? Just idle speculation on my part.'' =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=---=-=-=-=-=-=- *** LONG RANGE *** As In LONG RANGE EFFECT of the Toddy! As In Length Of Race Or Length Of Time AFTER Losing A Race ~ :( For Horse OR Owner! IMO: NO SPECULATION Is ''IDLE"" Curious Minds Need To Know! OR At Least Speculate ~ Probably The Word Originates From Spectacles: Needed To SEE Just Felinus Speculationus ;) |
