Prado on Adore the Gold in FOY
Edgar Prado has reportedly committed to Mike Gorham to ride Adore the Gold Saturday in the Fountain of Youth. This lends further credence that Buffalo Man has been injured...
|
You don't honestly think he would choose Buffalo Man ( injured or not ) over Adore the Gold?

I don't know if I would call it " sporting " necessarily. At some point it's important to have an idea where you stand. I don't think NoBiz, as good as he may be, has exactly stamped himself as a horse to avoid. |

NoBiz has been my top choice for a long time but my confidence in him has slipped a bit. I'm looking for him to show a new dimension in the FOY. |

Save Dreaming of Anna of course. |

Adore the Gold is my Derby horse as of right now. . . I better bet him big on Saturday because that'll probably be the last time he'll be a decent price. . .

You could have got better than 100-1 odds on Adore the Gold (104/1 in fact) as early as three days ago, through the offshore site Ehorse's betting exchange

Love Mike Gorham as a trainer but still have my doubts about ATG. Prado on a plus but certainly have questions.
But sure would take 104-1 on him |
What am I missing here:
Adore the Gold has ZERO SHOT --Prado or otherwise. |

Adore the Gold easily won the dover around 2 turns at Delaware against some decent horses. With his speed and versatility, I think he's got a huge chance in the FOY if he draws reasonable. Dreams of Thunder gets back to 2 turns as well, which he'll love.

Didn't ATG finish up the track in the Remsen behind NoBiz?
|
Yes he did.

Hopefully they'll put the Derby futures back up before the weekend. --Dunbar |

The odds at betCRIS.com are back up today, and Adore The Gold is still 83-1.
Also, it looks like CRIS will win my coveted "Taking Bets On A Dead Horse" award for the 2nd year in a row. They are still showing Chace City at 140-1. Last year they won the award by listing With A City for weeks after his death. As bad as it is to see a dead or injured horse still listed, the consolation is that it probably indicates some cluelessness on CRIS's part with regard to the chances of the actual contenders. --Dunbar |
I dont think anyone has established themselfes as a horse to avoid. Thus do whats best for your horse and run conviently at the best purse avaiiable. My opinion about Nobiz is to chalange him now even tho he seems to be the favorite of most and thus bet against. Even tho with his performance thus far he deserves to be the favorite. Usually this time of the year you have strong sentiment for the highest Beyers. Probably get over 30/1 on the 5 highest when the next pool opens.

Adore The Gold's future odds have plummeted from 83-1 all the way down to 80-1! --Dunbar |
O'neill thinks otherwise

"Wherever Nobiz Like Shobiz goes, we won't go," Dennis O'Neill said. Until Derby Day, that is. " http://www.drf.com/news/article/82893.html " Like Gorham, O'Neill also showed great respect for Nobiz Like Shobiz, who he is hoping to avoid along the Derby trail. "He kicked our butts (in the grade I Champagne where Nobiz finished second and Liquidity ran ninth)," he said. "I was standing right next to Barclay. They were so proud of that horse and they should be--he's a beast when you stand next to him. Not only does he have the look, but he has extremely fast numbers. If you can avoid that horse before the big dance, it would be good." http://tcm.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=37764 |
Prado's other mounts for the remaining preps look to be filling up as well:
