The Shadwell is really nice. How does P Val get that mount?
|
Nice field for the Turf Mile!
(Get Stormy :{>: ) |
I could get used to this Win and You're In thing. Seems trainers/owners wanna get there horses in and we are getting some nice fields
What is the deal with Atta Boy Roy? Is he going to Dirt or Turf Sprint? |
When are they going to have a grade 1 race for the dictator of Cuba?
|
Could Proviso possibly get a better set up?
I love Get Stormy, but he has to be up against it. |

Who do you like? I thought we were trying to save till the CUP? |
Maybe someone with big bucks claims the #3 Gran Estreno and then pays for him to run in the BC Classic since he has a spot in it:D
How much do they have to supplement him for? First ever 1,000 to 1 shot!! |

edit: http://www.breederscup.com/content.aspx?id=26326 Horses that are not nominated to Breeders' Cup If a Horse of Racing Age nomination is not paid prior to or at Pre-Entry, the horse may be supplemented to a Championship race. The total supplementary fee is 9% of the guaranteed purse if the sire was nominated to the Breeders' Cup, European Breeders' fund or the BCL/EBF Common Fund program when the horse was conceived or 15% of the guaranteed purse if the sire and horse were not nominated. One-third (1/3) of the Supplementary fee is due at pre-entry on October 25, 2010. The remaining two-thirds (2/3) is due to pass the box at the time of entry closing, November 2, 2010 as designated by the host track. Note: Payment of supplementary pre-entry and entry fees will make a horse eligible only for a specific Breeders' Cup Championship race. Payment of such fees will not make the horse eligible to any other Breeders' Cup purse or awards program. Refunds for Pre-Entry, Entry and Supplementary Fees Pre-entry fees and entry fees for nominated horses are non-refundable except in the event of sickness or disability certified by the track or state veterinarian (or veterinary certification acceptable to Breeders' Cup Limited) or in the event a horse is prevented from starting by a decision of the Racing Directors/Secretaries Panel in order to limit the field of starters. The first one-third (1/3) of the supplementary fee is non-refundable except in the event a horse is prevented from starting by decision of the Racing Directors/Secretaries Panel in order to limit the field of starters. The remaining two-thirds (2/3) of this fee is non-refundable except in the event of sickness or disability certified by the track or state veterinarian (or veterinary certification acceptable to Breeders' Cup Limited) or in the event a horse is prevented from starting by a decision of the Racing Directors/Secretaries Panel in order to limit the field of starters. Supplementary Fee Credit Non-nominated horses that are supplementary entries will receive a credit in an amount equal to the supplementary fees paid (less that portion allocated to pre-entry and/or entry fees) in all subsequent year in which the non-nominated horses are supplementary entries in Championship races. The credit may not be utilized to reduce that portion of supplementary fees allocated to pre-entry and/or entry fees but shall be credit against the remaining portion of the supplementary fees. |
G1 that is worth 50k?? I never heard of this race before and how in the heck did it get G1 status?

Wow. Gotta go (minus arabian race)
11/8/1,2,4,7/8,11/4 in the 5th it is 5,6,8 I may play this singling Desert Wheat. |
is it me or is anyone else getting a kick out of this stakes name
Abu Dhabi First Lady S. (G1) -bt- |
at last the show down between the to turf female wasted vs proviso
|
Quote:

i like proviso as well
but this is the match up of the two best turfers east meets midwest |
Gio Ponti will be a gross underlay and worth totally tossing for me, even if its just in some small 50 cent pick 3's. 7-5 ML is silly for a grinder, cutting back for the first time in 18 months, who one could argue has lost a step.
|
I think he's the most likely winner, but Get Stormy can beat him. Not sure what to do w/ the Cat off the long layoff.

Maybe Gio Ponti won't win, and I'm not crazy about the race in general. But he was awfully good at a mile last year and I like cutbacks like this. There's enough speed in there for him. I wonder how the race will be bet.

I'm hoping Gio finds some trouble and runs 3rd, making him a square price in the BC. I like him much better as a miler than at 1 1/2. There's always going to be plenty of pace in the BC Mile.
|
I was talking this over with someone who has a better handle on the bloodstock side of things, and he brought up a good point. The only race that Gio can run in that will enhance his stud fee is the classic. If he were to run 3rd or something it would probably add like $5K to his fee.

Ya. . . it's pretty obvious. But isn't their top choice right now the mile? Seems like a waste.
|
Isn't Castleton Lyons likely to stand Gio Ponti themselves? They don't exactly have a band of signature stallions right now, though Bernstein hasn't been awful.
If they are standing him then they might just want to run him where he can win. At least they'd have a fighting chance in the Mile, the Classic...not so much. I mean, that's unless he becomes Christophe Clement's best dirt horse since Dynever. |
Why wouldn't they care about the fee if they were the ones standing him?
|
any shot wasted tears gets loose tomorrow and never looks back
footing has to be firm which is an advantage for her too and she ships well i like proviso that toga race showed grit but maybe wasted is an EV+ play |

I really hope this is finally the day Proviso goes down in flames.

But Dynever has been an incredibly successful stallion in Saudi Arabia. |
