Now that's a champion

Goldikova, a true champion thoroughbred. Simply outstanding.

I agree, and as I posted on the other thread, she is far more deserving of horse of the year than Zenyatta is.She would whoop Zenyatta.

randallscott35 11-06-2010 03:49 PM

She actually travels too. My heroine.

I don't want to make this another Zenyatta thread. Goldikova is just awesome on her own.

pointman 11-06-2010 03:50 PM

She has faced anything and everything and beat them. Regardless of what Zenyatta does today she cannot be compared to Goldikova who is a true great horse.

DaTruth 11-06-2010 03:51 PM

I doubt we will ever see another mare beat the boys three times in BC races.

the_fat_man 11-06-2010 03:51 PM

And she didn't even need to bring her (at least 2) rabbits over to get it done. So the stable saved some money, too. :$:

I think she's one of the highest rated female milers we've seen in this country in a long time. I think you're maybe going back to Miesque.

I say that as an FYI for Randall

Agree!

Amazing horse.

Look at her eye and her body. The length of her shoulder and the perfect balance of her body is beautiful.

I have seen many, many good horses up close in my job as veterinarian, but that is equine perfection.

Her heart and her connection with her rider shows her strenght and her intellegence.

Why I love watching the BC with non-racing people- I explained to my husband about Head being notable for having won the Mile twice as a jockey and now three times as a trainer. He thought about it and said, " So he's basically Apollo Creed, then." Me-(sigh) "Yes, dear." Him- "Sure hope there are no Russian trainers in there, then."

viscount26 11-06-2010 03:55 PM

and she only needs 1 US start to qualify as Horse of the Year:D

She has less then a 1% chance to win HOY. She is amazing, but beating Gio Ponti does not make you American HOY. If one of the big 4 dont win the Classic, her odds would go up from 1% to about 5.34%.

Seattleallstar 11-06-2010 04:08 PM

Better than Zenyatta unless Zenyatta wins the BC Classic.

Going 8f on turf, right?

Arletta 11-06-2010 04:17 PM

I loved when they showed her groom running down the rail cheering her on.. That was great. :)

That was great!!!:)

She has so many gears, Peslier started asking her on the turn and not only was she able to hit that gear, she found another gear inside the final 1/8th. Not many can do that, all the credit to her. That was a better mile than even Lure's 11 post wide draw 2nd BC mile win.

Danzig 11-06-2010 05:42 PM

a brilliant horse. her turn of foot was amazing to witness-again. no debating her talent or her accomplishments.

Seattleallstar 11-06-2010 06:07 PM

Zenyatta best female horse ever!
