The Hutcheson is a great betting race.

No idea yet, just recognize the names and think it will be a good betting race.

A good betting race is like pornography, you know it when you see it.

Just imagine if Determinato and Arch Traveler were entered like it was mentioned they would me

Great betting race

If Leave of Absence is a real horse, it's his day to prove it. He'll get an ideal set up here.

Yup - it certainly looks like a meltdown is imminent.

randallscott35 02-23-2011 02:48 PM

I always feel like speed holds up exceedingly well at GP.

I think once you actually look, it wont be so great. The only other horse who I give a chance to is the Rick V from way back.
The track is a lot of speed though and they will have to run to beat the 1,3.

Betsy 02-23-2011 04:51 PM

Hutch is a very good race. I've always liked Crossbow, but I've been thinking that his best race was his debut, when he sizzled early. He's going to have to do that from the rail here.

I'm very, very confident in THAS.

The Indomitable DrugS 02-23-2011 05:49 PM

I'd bet my brains on Gourmet Dinner if he went in the Hutcheson - and yet he has almost no chance in the Fountain of Youth.

There's basically only a single closer in the entire Hutcheson field - and it's Leave of Absence - who is adding blinkers.

Black N Beauty might be able to adapt and take way back and come with one run - but it's anyones guess what Desormeaux will do.

The exact opposite of what the trainer tells him to do, if history tells us anything.

Either that, or he'll make an early run for the lead.

Oh, and he also won't ride him to the wire.

Crossbow, good luck. I'd like him alot more at a mile. he isn't a 7 furlong horse.

And I did look, but I let things digest before opinions. And those have sucked lately. I have done much much better just betting throughout the card and firing from the hip then having a plan and trying to execute it.

Scav 02-23-2011 06:15 PM

One opinion I have so far that if you are against To Honor and Serve off the layoff and strong possibility that he isn't 100%, Casper's Touch is very interesting to me. I was live for his last race and he galloped out strong after an impossible trip. While I consider Solis an anchor, he has been riding well this meet. Should get better fractions this time, and settle alot earlier 2nd off the shelf.

I just don't know how to feel about To Honor and Serve because those Payson works are super impressive if you go by the rule that the track is 2 second slow compared to a normal track.

I bet my guts out on him in the Holy Bull and, he never picked his feet up.

I suppose it's possible he doesn't like the track but, he needs to step up here with this pace scenario.

Why can't you just say the horse's name? Seriously, it's irritating as fuc1<.

my miss storm cat 02-23-2011 07:16 PM

There are 3 horses in the Hutcheson I'm a fan of but, looking at the pp's, I can't see any of them (or anyone) beating Manicero.

Put him on ignore.....and/or please don't quote him.

You can't escape him. He even made an appearance on the Zenyatta website with this gem, "@Hooves- not cool at all. I work with special needs people and have been accused of being one many times."

The Indomitable DrugS 02-23-2011 09:25 PM

I saw someone post that here earlier in the day - I just assumed it was IC trolling as PG '85 on that site.

No, you must share the same bloodlines to say something as stupid as that.

:zz:

They are quite a few that could win the Hutch but, Manicero is not one of them.

Oh whew thank God you posted this before I was able to actually play him.

There's only a 9 in 10 chance of being right as to who won't win so, while I appreciate your concern (since you obviously have a crystal ball), why not just post your pick?

I usually wait for things like scratches and actual odds before I make my selection.
Capping 2 days before the race is for eliminating horses like Manicero that can't win.

To be fair though sometimes capping 2 days before any given race is because you know you won't have time on raceday.

I won't. I want to play Gulfstream and that was the first one I looked at fully expecting to like who I assumed would do well (and who I no longer think will). A couple of them are vastly overrated.

I look forward to seeing your pick.

So let me get this straight, you said that 'I can't see any of them beating Manicero.'
Now you don't he can win.
I love have discussions with females like you!:{>:

Dude, what the hell happened to you?

You used to be a fairly rational person on here, now you are short with people that don't deserve it and you often times make no sense.

I don't even know why I need to explain myself here but okay...

Since I'm just a stupid, brainless female my pretty hawsies dat I wike are Flashpoint, Little Drama and Black N Beauty.

I saw that they were entered (yes I can read!) and thought ooooh I wike you and you... and YOU!

Looked at pp's not expecting anyone to jump out at me.

Oh let me explain... I did this early cause I'm a single mom and work and once it's Saturday morning the idea of sitting here with a cup of coffee quietly pouring over pp's is about as big a joke as me hitting as many PIck 6's as Kingturf. Following?

So I thought I'd better be like the big people, just this one time mind you, put aside sentiment and try to be objective.

In my pea of a brain I like this horse.

If you don't that's great... feel free to tell me but why you think it's okay for you to talk down to me when we both know damned well there's no one else on this thread you'd talk down to... I don't understand that.

I post my picks. I'm not afraid to do that and if I'm wrong I'm wrong.

I usually post them on the paddock and not on the daily running selections thread cause this is where I'm comfortable.

Honestly wtf... why am I even bothering?

Thank you for the little heart smilie but now please, if you'd be so kind, explain what "females like you" means.

Oh yeah and who do you like here?

I can be a little thread fairy and fly around posting who won't win here and there and somewhere else.

Ummm what is the point of that?

tjfla 02-24-2011 02:24 PM

Serious question here

Who can beat THAS in the FOY?

I see him blowing the field away but just wondering

I do have the utmost confidence in him and I think he's by far the best horse, but even Mott isn't sure he'll be at his best for the FOY.

Is it by any chance going to rain, really, really hard? If not he should be safe.

I'm only trying to be nice and let her know her horse has no shot.

Kiaran McLaughlin on ATR: May scratch CROSSBOW from Saturday's Hutcheson in favor of start in Gotham. Decision later today..

Yup.. And the preponderance of speed signed on.

That is as lame as Dorfer shipping Indian Winter to Turf Paradise to avoid the SA track bias.
