Our Year was impressive in an optional claimer at Monmouth. . . Set a crazy pace while battling Palooza into submission before drawing off. 93 Beyer - she might be a Test filly.

94. . . looking over the figs, though, something seems off.

What's off? 94 for Party makes sense with his past races. I think he could be a g3 winner maybe even a G2 if Broom can get a few more lengths out of him. The Half Forest Camp sib looks ok as well I think she is called Party Camp

I haven't looked closely and don't have time right now, but looking at the pace figs and Beyers together makes me wonder.

I agree. I have been following him since his debut. Very fun horse to watch. Hope there are bigger, better things for him in his future

I thought when he came to NY he raced very well. He can steal plenty of money in NJ minor stakes but I would hope they give him a crack at the big boys if he stays together.

Are you using CJ's figs? On second thought I doubt he did them yet.. I only understand CJ's pace figs and know his are First Class.

hockey2315 05-29-2011 06:37 PM

No, the Moss with the Beyers, which I believe use the same variant.

Wait for CJ he tells the real story No disrespect to the very solid Moss intended but when in comes to pace CJ rules

Tizway sure loves him some Belmont.

Mike 05-31-2011 08:50 AM

I sure wish Tizway hadn't shown up with his A game.

I bet Rodman:(

So, you really like a 36-1 shot and only make a win bet?

I eff up betting this game and getting the max out of my opinions as much as anyone but, If I like a 36/1 and he runs 2nd, I will make :$: on the race.
Especially if the fav wins....:wf

Mike 05-31-2011 02:19 PM

I just deleted a smartass response, hoping we can have a constructive conversation.

Yes, I bet Rodman to win, my only wager in the race. I have this problem often (seriously), so feel free to advise. When I box with the favorite, the favorite bombs and my longshot wins, leaving me a loser. I have thought about just going to WPS wagers on my many longshot picks

Have you ever considered betting to win AND backwheeling in an exacta?

Mike 05-31-2011 02:29 PM

Hate to admit it after 20 something years, but is "backwheeling" the same as having my horse underneath only, in the exacta?. I could win bet the longshot, and put him under a few horses in exactas, not just under the favorite (whom I may have felt was vulnerable in the first place)

Mike 05-31-2011 02:35 PM

googled backwheeling the exacta and got my answer at the Nightschool! I guess I'm in need of some extra cirricular education after all. Not sure where my minds been wandering since Lil E Tee's Derby win, perhaps I still spend too much time just staring at the fillies:o

VOL JACK 05-31-2011 02:39 PM

It all come back to how much you want to spend in each race.
I'm not big on place betting but, at over 10-12/1 in a decent size field I have no problem with a place bet.

Most of my handle is exacta's and double's.
With the longest shot on the board in an 11 horse field, I would have no problem wheeling him with the field in exacta's and pressing with the top 3-5 choices.

Plucking Rodman out of that field at 36-1 was the hard part, just have to nail down the easier part of getting paid if he runs well but doesn't win.

Not that I haven't squandered plenty of good opinions in my time.

Indian Charlie 06-01-2011 11:45 AM

Anyone have an idea on what Chosen Miracle got at Arlington, I think in the second race Saturday?
