First results of the year show Arletta to be best hitting in both contests with a win in Pints as Ruffian-333 nails the win in ROI. DonGuido takes on the bridesmaid role in Points and Roamin does the same in ROI. Crimimal Type hits the show spot in Points and NJ Stinks does his thing for show in ROI while JolyB registers the super spot in Points.

Way to early to figure a top 10 but we'll get there soon enough. There's usually quite a bit of jockeying the first couple of months. Congrats to all the toppers.

So we have a big time new leader Real Quiet who is HOT HOT HOT to start of the year while Criminal Type is no slouch with his swammy bets and DonGuido hangs tough close behind landing nice scores for both weeks. Arletta and Ruffian hang in there all tied up in a cute little bow as JolyB hits well in both weeks.

Dapplehorse does well with the wagering also in both weeks and Cruzan200246 nabs a show spot in ROI as well. Plenilune and digger hit for the super spots in Pts and ROI adding nicely to their totals.

Better narrative (maybe) next time. Ga'night y'all.

As of 12/7 I have also updated the points totals to reflect the new points awards (retroactive) for win, place, show and super. Some scores we up a point of two and others came down a point. Those that hit the place spot stayed the same. This will all be smother going forward.

GotaDunQH nails the Points win adding nicely to here total and digger lands a 3rd in ROI to help his cause.

The points were spread across 8 players this week and we have a new leader for now Criminal Type hitting a 2nd in Points. Arletta hangs tough in the 3 hole with a 3rd in ROI and Real Quiet maintains the 4 spot cashing in a 4th in ROI. DonGuido likes the 5 hole and continues hitting the board for minor rewards in Points and Roamin garners a nice 2nd in ROI staying put on the sixth rung. JolyB now shares the sixth rung with CT after nailing the win in Points and Plenilune makes a nice gain with a strong win in ROI. And Cruzan 200246 adds to his totals nicely with a 4th in Points.

So as we move closer to our new calendar year we are starting to take shape. Lets see how Santa Anita fares with us. Happy Holidays to all and be safe.

WOW so we have a giant move and new leader with one Plenilune who is just showing all of us how to handicap and pick horses right now. Criminal Type continues to show up well and stays in the two hole with a 4th in Point and DonGuido keeps on hitting the board 5 out of the last 6 weeks mostly for a minor prize but some how manages a win to tie with Plenilune but stays tight in the 6th spot. JolyB not too far behind moves a up some with a nice 3rd in Points and NJ Stinks hops into to join the toppers with cool 2nd finish in ROI.

Well gaining points this week was pretty tough but Arletta hits on a first in Points and jumps up to the two hole while Real Quiet shares her success in the Points Contest and hangs tough in the 5 hole. DonGuido continues his "just hit the board" approach and adds to his total with a 4th in Points and Cruzan200246 moves into the Top Ten on the 9th rung of the ladder with a nice 3rd place finish.

Nothing to be said about the ROI wagers since we all got shut out and it's back to Gulfstream . . . to see what happens there again, hoping we get more out of it this time.

Ruffian moves up to join the 3 hole with fellow Coloradian CT and Real Quiet stays up close and too personal with them both in on the 4th rung of the ladder. DonGudio methodical attemps at the "also rans" category finally nails a win in Points, it's about FREAKING TIME DG! JolyB adds nicely to his spot in the 7 hole and digger jumps into the top ten with a very nice win in ROI.

JolyB starts his scoring style and moves ahead of digger who plays the ROI well in both weeks (along with the ROI win for January + 10 pts. bonus) moves up a notch and GotaDubQH garners minor honors to maintain the 10th position.

Here we go again as JolyB gears up for the TC run and hops over a number to land in the two spot while DonGuido continues his onslaught of being 2nd or worse best but in the money week after week after freaking week (sorry - power of the pen) joining Arletta to share the 5 hole. Roamin nails the win in the ROI and adds nicely to his totals while GotaDunQH hangs closely behind on the last rung of the top ten ladder.

Cruzan200246 leads the lower tier but is so close to nabbing a top ten spot. It's starting to get interesting here as well as at the tracks with hopefuls abound. It's that time of year when some of the best show their spots here and on the track. Lets see where Gulfstream takes us this next contest.

And we have a new leader JolyB (the lead changes a lot this time of year) but The Professor is tough when he has ahold of it and he does now with excellent hits in each contest. Plenilune hangs tough in 3rd nabbing a 4th in ROI and DonGuido throws in a ringer with his horse shoe for a rare win in ROI along with a Pts hit and climbs up two rungs of the top ten ladder. Arletta is stable in the six hole landing a 3rd in Pts and swedejxn captures some good ground in the lower tier moving up a couple of spots. OK now it's getting serious. JolyB keeps adding to his stash, albeit minor this week, and Criminal Type is no slouch with a win in Pts hanging tough but loses ground to the 3 hole, while Arletta remains hot and engaged jumping into the 2 spot with a 3rd in ROI and 10 ROI bonus pts for being the best in March. DonGuido once again sneaks in a lucky win in ROI and lands a 2nd in Pts to start a move up one rung of the ladder on the leaders and digger maintains a hold on the 8 hole with a nice 2nd in ROI.

Well we had no change in order in the top 10 so I'll let you see what happened there with points gains without too much fan fare for change. The movement in the lower tier gave NJ Stinks the lead there with a nice 1st in ROI and swedejxn hopped up one spot adding his 4th in Pts.

OK so lets get this last warm up drill behind us for the start of the 3YO campaign and all else around it. Big stuff a coming here and on the track I hope. Arletta continues to creep a little closer to The Professor by nabbing points week after week and DonGuido is not too far behind, jumping up one to the three hole, as he is hitting a stride himself. Plenilune takes care of her business with a nice 2nd in ROI while Ruffian shows her stuff continuing also to hit the board in so many ways.

Digger lands a nice 4th in ROI and with the April ROI bonus jumps over RQ to take over the 7 hole and Roamin 42 does the equal in Points but Cruzan 200246 does him one better and trades places to move up a notch to the 9th rung of the top ten ladder. And lest we not forget ryonker who leaps over two players making good ground in the lower tier with a very nice 2nd in Points.

Well now it's always good to get lucky on TC days with double points and DonGuido got real lucky, hitting in both contests, allowing him to move up to the 2nd rung of the top ten ladder and Criminal Type nailed the win on Derby Day jumping up a spot as well to take on the 3 hole. Plenilune landed a nice third in points to solidify her hold on the 5th rung and digger comes up big hitting a nice 2nd in ROI to maintain his lucky 7 position. And lest we not forget ElPrado who is making a slow but purposeful move to the top of the lower tier.

The Derby was fun, good for me here and in my hopes going forward, perhaps to think AP may be the one . . . but how many times can we think that with the likely reality of disappointment again . . . we'll see?!
