OK Its Derby Week with added contest stuff right here!
 

So here we go as we usually always do and if I forget anything remind me. Earn some added points to your total by:

1. Pick the horse finishing last - 10 extra points
2. Pick the number of lengths back the last horse finishes at. Closest to the correct number gets 10 points even if you don't have the last place horse.
3. Pick the straight exacta - 10 extra points (I can see this on you picks)
4. Pick the straight trifecta - add 10 more points (Same with this)
5. Pick the winner - 5 extra points
6. Guess the attendance as confirmed on TV and/or in written articles - 10 points for he closest guess.

BTW - JolyB is not eligible. He already has way too many points . . . KIDDING! :D

Also, the winner of the points contest and ROI will each receive a KY Derby glass. If the same person wins both contests the second place finisher in the ROI will be in line to receive the glass.

I just thought there would be a separate thread for picking

You say that your pick for the winner would not be the pick you make for the win spot in the Points contest. Since there is no issue of odds or potential payoff involved, aren't they one and the same? Why would one not place in the top slot the horse he or she thought was going to win?

I DO POINTS PIX BASED ON ODDS...

BUT THE HORSE I MAY REALLY THINK COULD WIN, :tro:
OR THE EXACTA, TRIFECTA FOR BONUS POINTS
MAYBE NOT THE EXACT ONES I DO IN POINTS.....
FOR DIFFERENT REASONS ~
SUCH AS HIGHER ODDS THAT ARE NOT WISE FOR POINTS CONTEST

Happened to me a couple of times too before. I think you just have to go completely out and sign in again before it will let you edit.

OK results of the extra points stuff, not much here expect:

Plenilune and DonGuido get an extra 10 points for picking Gray Magician to come in last.

And Cruzan 200246 gets and extra 10 points for being closest to the guess of how many lengths the last place hoess would finish. It was only 19 lengths which is pretty amazing and shows us all how bunched up all the horses were coming around the final turn into the stretch. To me, this adds more credence to the fact the interference of Maximum Security should have been overlooked. The stewards should have put track conditions in the equation too. Very narrow minded decision.

But we'll have to accept it and more on, like it or not.

Does anyone have the link to what Bafferts comments were on the race and finish? I saw he had some but lost the link. Thanks much.
