Derby PF's

Dr Roman has posted PF's for the top three finishers....
Street Sense...-57
Hard Spun...-49
Curlin...-29
So, he's saying SS's figure is somewhat average for Derby winners, recent numbers:
Barbaro...-60
Giacomo...-48
Smarty Jones...-63
Funny Cide...-60
War Emblem...-61
Monarchos...-75
FuPeg...-57
Charismatic...-48

If Beyer sees the race the same way, expect a beyer of 104-105.

I must say that this somewhat speaks against the concept that this crop is slower than recent ones, I had posted awhile back the PF's of various prep races that seemed to indicate that this year's crop was turning in slower performances but Street Sense and Hard Spun certainly earned figures in line with recent years. So...as usual we'll wait before saying much about this class.

The Beyer is 110. I agree more with Roman, a 105 is probably more realistic given the pace.

110 seems way too high. . .

Yeah, 110 seems a bit high to me as well...Roman and Beyer often differ (as in Curlin's Ark Derby), I prefer Roman's numbers, they do better by me!

When I was talking with Jamie last night I had said that I thought it would be 105.

But then again, I don't know much about calculating speed figures, it was just my best guess based on the times of other races on the card and ho Sense and Spun ran.

I thought it would be a 110, but that does seem a bit high, so let's go with a 107.
