I'm down in Miami right now for the Fasig Tipton Two Year Old Sale. From what I've seen so far, it looks like some of the Lion Hearts and the Speightstowns can run. On the other hand, the Pleasantly Perfects don't look too good. Granted we're only dealing with a limited sample, but those are my impressions so far. With regard to the Pleasantly Perfects, I know they are bred to run long. I'm not concerned with their workout times. I'm concerned with the way they move. I've only seen a limited sample, but the PPs I've seen have not had a nice way of moving at all.

the PP yearlings I saw last fall were so enormous that I can't imagine they would have grown into their bodies enough to make a good showing at any 2YO sale.

Makes you extra excited for the Jazil yearlings to finally hit the races.

Oh yeah, and congrats with WA and RBD today:) You were right about WA. We always knew the other one had a lot of potential. Glad to see Ron finally got him straight. He looks fantastic!

speightstowns looking and running great

Just went through all of the Lion Hearts and Speightstowns.

I've got updated video quality on my computer now, so it is just like watching the videos on the TV. I stream the videos onto a bearshare account now, and the quality is much better. So, I can actually see them very well without getting the preview videos from the sales now. Just so that you know that I can see exactly what I am looking at.

Rich, there is one Speightstown and one Lion Heart that blow the rest of the Speightstowns and Lion Hearts out of the water. You will know which two I am talking about. Nice, nice horses. So excited. Love two-year-olds in training sales.:)

The Smarty Jones look fair so far...

The PPs remind me of the Mineshafts from last year. Of course, I don't think people are hyping the PPs like they were the Mineshafts. There was that one Mineshaft filly from the Keeneland sale that was just awesome though. Otherwise, there weren't too many good Mineshafts at the sales. I don't think that a single other Mineshaft made my list or even got a maybe from the sales except for the Keeneland filly last year. Of course, like you said, it is a limited sample of the horses so far.

Don't forget Cool Coal Man.

Nevermind, he was. From Fasig Tipton Calder. Still would have to look it up though. I don't remember another Mineshaft making my list, but I could be wrong. I just know that they were over-hyped as were the Vindications as a whole because not too many of them could run out of the enormous amount of them entered in the two year olds in training sales. I will say that Cool Coal Man's purchase price could very well reflect his workout as he did not go cheap. Wait, he was a buy back...oooppps. I'll have to pull out the video of him and take a look at him again because I don't have my lists from last year anymore, so I couldn't really tell you anyway. I can only remember a Mineshaft from Keeneland having an awesome workout last year out of the Mineshafts entered in the two year olds in training sales.

He was in the Keeneland Fall '06 sale. I just don't get why you are comparing PP's first crop to Mineshaft's 2nd(?) crop. Of course you're possibly the most confusing person I've ever encountered on the internet.

Looks like the risk was rewarded ten fold.

Mineshaft's first crop of two year olds was last year. Pleasantly Perfect's first crop of two year olds is this year. I'm comparing their first crops, in which there is a very limited sample of Pleasantly Perfects in two year old in training sales so far.

A lot of the Mineshafts don't move well at all. However, a few are really good.

I just don't understand how you can dismiss Mineshaft's crop when one of his babies just won a significant derby prep. It's just odd. It's like you have no idea what you're talking about.

I didn't dismiss the Mineshafts. I just said his babies were way overhyped during the two year old in training sales last year because most of the two year old Mineshafts in the sales were not that great. Everyone was talking about how wonderful the Mineshafts were in the two year old sales when I thought that the Harlan's Holdays in the two year old sales were much better. It doesn't mean that I don't think that Mineshaft won't have outstanding individuals. I already said that one of his fillies from a Keeneland sale was awesome. It just means that his babies overall did not deserve all the hype they were getting from based on most of the individuals that were entered in the two year olds in training sales last year.

Vindications in the two year old sales were also overhyped.
