5/10: BEL/HOL (P4's); LS Derby

Left one of the logicals off the P4 nightcap at Belmont Friday and got beat, but alternate ending would have made it quite worthwhile. #10 Ring Bernadette, (3-1 and my 4th choice), won and returned @ $250.00 for the Quad, while I thought swinging for the fences with Yankee Chief (9-1), returning $1,200.00 in the multi, was worth a try with $54 play on a muddy/off turf afternoon. Hope you used the winner there and did OK!

Belmont and Hollywood P4's and Lone Star Derby give us a 9 race card to play with from 4:00-9:00pm!

On somewhat of a sidenote....the 3rd at Belmont (MSW) was just won by a nice enough looking Aldebaran colt...

pointman 05-10-2008 01:21 PM

Steve, with the Belmont 10th off turf, Let's go Yankess looks awfully dangerous, potential single, although Writingonthewall intrigues me as well.

Those two look like the only ones who can win. . . Unless there's a put over or something. . .

R9 - $10 DD 7 w/ 4,14

hockey2315 05-10-2008 01:34 PM

Also

HOL R5 PK3 5,6 w/ ALL w/ 6

LS R10 SUPERS 1 w/ 10 w/ ALL w/ ALL, 1 w/ ALL w/ 10 w/ ALL, 1 w/ ALL w/ ALL w/ 10

Never usually hit the ALL button but things look wide open today

I agree, but should we be worried about the Contessa long shot (#12)?
I don't follow NY racing as close as most on here. Is this a spot where he could make something happen? Works don't look like much.

I doubt it. . . I play against Contessa in virtually all situations, though. . . He's a Freud so he'll be better on turf. . .

I am not totally leaving this horse out, putting on a saver. Contessa can always be dangerous, plus the horse was steadied in his first start. That being said, I think the 4,14 are the logical choices here.

Just arrived at BEL for 2nd half of card. Haven't looked at OTT scenario for 10th.

Mike 05-10-2008 02:40 PM

Sucks, I can't bet the Lone Star on Twinspires. I'll accept 2-1 on Casino Drive in th Peter Pan, he'll anialate the field now that Lieutenant Ron is out.

Going with Magical Fantasy in Holly's 7th, longshot Barber in the 9th

8) 2,3,4
9) 6
10) 4,14

r10

4,14 look like locks in the 10th.

9,12,15 still haven't proven themselves to be losers with a combined two races, but are also hard to like.

AeWingnut 05-10-2008 04:24 PM

was Tomcito scratched

so... I hit the Peter Pan tri and it paid really nice considering
10 more like that and I'll be even

So, as someone asked.. do you think Kent D is going to change mounts for the Belmont?

jms62 05-10-2008 05:51 PM

Would you change mounts if you had the chance to ride into history as a triple crown winning jock ?

Nothing stopping Kent D from jumping ship if BB runs in The Belmont. Hopefully Big Brown takes care of business next week.

Kent D was doing some reconnaissance work today.
