Just back home in Columbus, Ohio from a 10 day vacation in South Carolina and Florida. Stopped by Keeneland JUST in time to see this race, won by a nice margin. Wow that Christmas shop at Keeneland is a bit pricey lol so is the gift shop. When a Gift Shop has purses for $1,000 and up what do you expect:zz:

Congrats Chuck!

ok I just wanted a nice hoodie right and they want 75 bones and all it is is a freakin hoodie with keeneland on it - 50 bones max. paintings galore 500 up, pillows hundreds of bucks up man its pricey. no doubt some of the stuff is top notch beverly hills but what about us common folk just wanting a cool keeneland hoodie for 40 or so bones?

u know i should not complain, its crazy of me. im going off topic but keeneland is just freakin great, even in early december when i just roll in to catch a few races on simulcast (their simulcast is great, what 3 seperate rooms, great tvs etc) and roll out back to ohio. my burger and fries was great, good people around no jokers or "questionable" characters, security present etc etc.

lookin forward to spendin some time their in april 2009. retired guys sittin next to me, no doubt locals, said that Keeneland is the best place to be on Derby Day, anybody agree?

Congrats on a nice win. Any price is good money when it's winning money!!

Where has the walking sports encyclopedia been these days. CS used to be good for nightly exchanges of wit and wisdom on any subject, any sport, day or night. What happened to Senator Simon?

Keeneland is great on all the big race days, in addition to the usual simulcast areas, they fill the paddock with tables and chairs, set up mutual clerks, waiters to get you drinks, the races are shown on the infield setup, they also set up tons of TV's outdoors - it's family, it's fun, it's relaxing, it's not that crowded.

ddthetide 12-31-2008 03:47 PM

congrats on Carl S getting up for third this afternoon.:tro:

Riot 12-31-2008 04:30 PM

Yes, congrats!

That horse has a beautiful stride, covers alot of ground - too bad the jock thought the race was from the half to the quarter poles <g>

Next time, Carl :o
