Only really bad fillies win the Black Eyed Susan.
(cue Phil in 3, 2...) First race back for Mani Bhavan? |
Has to be a Panty Raid reference.
|
The Jim McKay and the other turf sprint remind me of when I asked a racing secretary why turf sprints were becoming popular and he said to me, "They ALWAYS fill."

Hmmm, it's not to far from me now.... |

I will be traveling by train and attending thanks to the generosity of a member of this board. My streak of Preakness attendances continues from 1997 to present. It's only 140 miles for you! |
I love the turf sprint circuit, though I hate to see what ends up happening to horses like Mighty Beau.
|
Since that day is my birthday, I expect all of the horses to run according to the way I think they will.:)
|
hooh why will not run in the susan.
|
Any info as to why she won't?
|
Will they still be having the Black Eyed Susan/Preakness DD? I hadn't heard it mentioned yet.

from drf: Hooh Why will sit out Black-Eyed Susan Hooh Why, winner of the Ashland Stakes and the morning-line favorite for Friday's Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, won't be making the trip from Arlington Park to Pimlico, trainer Donna Dupuy said Tuesday. Dupuy said that Hooh Why had been entered in the Black-Eyed Susan with the idea of running if the race appeared to be unusually weak for the class level. "If it looked like it were a really soft spot, we might have taken a shot," said Dupuy, who trains Hooh Why for Derby Daze Farms and Mark Hoffman. Hooh Why would have been making just her second dirt start had she come for the Black-Eyed Susan, and she may instead ship to Woodbine for a Polytrack stakes - the $150,000 La Lorgnette - scheduled for Sunday. |

But to look on the bright side, at least they haven't blocked Derby Trail. They let the best site slide by. :D |
