Yes though there is a potential strangles issue at Hoosier that may force a change in plans

Better the change in plans, unfortunately! :(

Cannon Shell 09-16-2009 06:11 PM

Plans are still up in the air. Maybe know more in the morning.

Just off with Chuck. Hoosier officially out of any consideration as situation worsens with Kentucky and Illinois excluding horses that visit there.

Good news is a MSW sprint at Kentucky Downs (!) on Monday, September 28th now a serious target.

Do you think that there is a legitimate concern for this action by the Ky. tracks are is it a retaliation thing in response to the just announced addition purse hikes at Hoosier? Perhaps some of each?

No. It's a reaction to a dangerous airborne virus that spreads very easily and quickly.

rpncaine 09-17-2009 09:29 AM

Sure I understand that part, but I don't recall the reaction being that radical in the past. I wasn't watching events as closely last time it happend so maybe that's what happened then too. Perhaps that event caused this type of stance to avoid a larger spreading of the virus this time. Just wondering outloud.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Neighboring, and even far flung tracks, ABSOLUTELY excluded shippers out of strangles-affected facilities when the last widespread strangles (and herpes for that matter) scare(s) hit.

Along with barn or farm quarentines, it's an automatic must to stifle the potential spread of viruses.

lol.. cornhole is called "beanbags" other places. Just the wooden things with the hole in them that you toss beanbags through. Nothing gross though it does have a gross name!

Many Others 09-17-2009 04:42 PM

okay that's cool, but pretty sure that cornhole mess is what made Billy Jo McAllister jump off the Tallahatchie bridge, and guess it's a regional thing and don't quite under why they can't have horseshoes or bingo but as long as they're not tossing or holeing em at Al-Deb it's cool...
