Toga's Monday Matchups

gonna start in race 4 today.

I gotta go with with Belle Harbor at +146 vs. Fiona Frued.

I think Fiona is gonna be dreadfully overbet off that 2nd place finish in her bebut.

Lets see if we can get the week started off right.

In the 6th, we have Royal Opportunity vs. Hostess.

Tempted to take RO at +114. Hostess is coming out of back to back stakes races, her last one being the VA Oaks were she didn't shame herself by any means finishing 5th while wide the whole way.

Royal Opportunity is trying winners for the first time today after breaking her maiden back on July 16. Shows 2 works since that day, with one of them being a very sharp 47 and change 4 panel work that was the 3rd best of 49 that day. Clement looks to have her sitting on go and is having a much better meet than Bond. Clement is hitting at 25% winners from 20 starters while Bond has yet to produce a winner at the meet.

Would be no surprise at all to see RO finish ahead of Hostess today, but I may hold out for a better price than currently offered.

Gimmee something in the feature.

Belle Harbour has snuck up to +176, so I had to grab another small piece of that as well.

GPK 08-14-2006 01:43 PM

Ok...im not the bragging type...but damn I'm good at these match ups. Belle Harbour almost won the whole race at 11-1...got caught at the wire, but beat Fiona Freud like she was nothing.:D

I believe that makes me

12 wins
2 losses

PSH 08-14-2006 01:46 PM

Nice call GPK

Way to go...
Nice payoff on the straight up....
THe winner certainly got hammered at the windows....

I knew the Pletcher horse was gonna take a ton of action at the windows based on his debut, finishing 2nd....but it was a sloooow race.

I don't know if anyone plays these picks I put out, but if they have been, they should be doing very well.

GPK 08-14-2006 01:54 PM

I really want to hammer Rogue Agent at +186 vs. Naughty NewYorker

I have a little bit already at +163 BUT....I looked up in Websters dictionary the definition of HUGE JOCKEY SWITCH....and there was this huge picture of Jean Luc Samyn handing over the silks to Edgar Prado. If the frog was still on NNY, I would jump all over this for more than I already have, but....
