david junior to bcc

just saw the news..it had been rumored that he would be trying dirt rather than going to the turf race, and it appears to be the case. they plan to train the 3 yo son of pleasant tap up to the race.
anyone give him a shot?

He's a great horse. Obviously the only question is the dirt. He's by Pleasant Tap and he's out of an Irish River mare. His sire side is fine for the dirt but I believe his dam side is strictly turf.

I think he's got a definite chance.

David Junior doesn't stay 12f on turf in top company, so they are sending him to the race at his favorite distance of 10f, which happens to be on dirt.

The mum's side IS very turfy - dam was unplaced and a full sister to Paradise Creek, a turf speicalist extraordinaire. The second dam had a Pleasant Colony SW son who equally good on turf and dirt, so that gives some hope, although that one's full brother Forbidden Apple was turf only. Even the second dam's Wild Again son Wild Event was a turf specialist (G1 winner), although he did win a dirt maiden race as a 2yo.

Fifty-fifty he takes to dirt. Ya pays yer money and takes yer chance.

he is a four year old. i believe that he is a little overrated... its always a gamble going from turf to dirt. if he takes it who knows. He will have to beat a very tough field this year to win it!

David Junior sounds like a NASCAR driver.. I just can't get past that.:D
