Martin Garcia has hired a new agent

from SA Stable Notes

Martin Garcia has parted company with agent Nick Cosato and hired Vic Stauffer, who also represents Joel Rosario

Vic has done a great job with Joel. The thing is, Joel has talent and Vic unleashed that.

If Vic turns Garcia into a good rider, he should win another Eclipse, jock agent of the year.

Garcia was getting good mounts already, wasn't he?

Good wishes Vic.

The deli where Martin Garcia worked and met his riding destiny is less than a mile from my house.

It's next door to a "Lucky's" grocery store.

Here's good luck to you and Martin. I'm a fan.

(I think I lost $$ on him a couple times when he rode Tres Borrachos...but that's just the sentimentalist in me, so it was $$ well spent I guess....)

Thanks. Martin is an excellent rider with an amazing work ethic. Slow but sure we will try to build up his business.

I am pulling for both of you. Who do you have Saturday?

Tough break for Cosato though, I always got along with Nick the few times I have been around him, he was always a straight shooter on the chances of his horses.

DerbyCat 12-24-2009 12:27 AM

I loved Martin when he was riding up north, unfortunately he (and Joel) were too good to stay here. I love his story about how he got into riding (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m.../ai_n16201501/)

It really is a shame both he and Joel left northern California, I thought either of them could defeat Russell Baze for the riding title on a regular basis. You've got a good pair to work with Vic, good luck to all of you!

Does he still cook? I am having a problem with making mayonaisse.

Nick will be fine. He has Quinonez, who finished 4th in the standings at Hollywood this meet.

I'm firing FreddyMo and hiring 10 Point Move-up to become my new message board agent.

It was a thankless job anyway

randallscott35 12-24-2009 11:19 AM

I hear Cedros needs a new jock?

Sorry you had to find out about it like this - but my board business has taken a significant hit of late.

If 10 Point Move-Up has my back 1/10th as much as he's had Mike Smith's - you will see me rise from the ashes to the mountain top.

The legions of Anti-DrugS Coalitions from all over the Interwebs will soon see the errors of their ways... and the Great DrugS Dynasty of 2010 is sure to commence.

Didn't he get a new trainer once he was sold?
