Endorsement Beyer 101

Nice effort. Happy for Ritter.

He sure surprised me. I certainly wasn't thinking he was this good.

Yet another horse in the Derby with no shot. I'm beginning to think this could be a lucrative Derby to bet.

Why no shot?

cakes44 03-29-2010 08:16 AM

My guess is because he got the ultimate trip and setup in the Sunland Derby and won't see it again.

randallscott35 03-29-2010 08:17 AM

No fan of anyone in the LA Derby if that was what you were referring to.

cakes44 03-29-2010 08:19 AM

I thought we were all talking about the Sunland Derby?

slotdirt 03-29-2010 08:27 AM

Who does have a shot in the Derby? This class is beyond mediocre.

VOL JACK 03-29-2010 09:55 AM

I know this the kind of prediction that PG1985 makes but, I think the derby winner will come out of the Wood.
I know the race is yet to be run.

Go ahead, beat me up.

booner 03-29-2010 10:20 AM

VJ, I don't think any prediction can be discounted at this point. The 3 year old season has been interesting so far (to say the least). I really don't go where to go right now myself.

I did like Endorsement's performance in the Sunland Derby. One thing that bothers me is the huge improvement over his last race. He may have peaked at the wrong time. Just my novice opinion on him.

BTW, love the avatar. She's a cutie!

The best picture is yet to come....She was choking the life out of one of the chicks in another photo.

Now I gotta see that one! LMAO! :D

I'd be interested in hearing why folks don't like Endorsement. From what we know of Conveyance, and what we thought we knew of Tempted to Tapit, that wasn't all that bad a performance yesterday. The pedigree goofs have to be all over this one as well. Plus, in a year devoid of anything resemabling a fast race, he's run one of the fastest.

I don't see it as a big surprise.

He'd only ever run on dirt?

Um, try because he was coming out of rather ordinary and non-descript races, and he received the perfect trip of perfect trips and on top of that, Conveyance folded up like a cheap suit in the stretch and Tempted to Tapit was never really much to begin with and the Louisiana Derby was further proof of that. Endorsement is more likely to finish last than finish first. At least I have 2/3rds of my last place trifecta set with Endorsement and Dean's Kitten.

slotdirt 03-29-2010 03:29 PM

Sure, I get all of that, but who is that much better? How many prep races have ended up with triple digit Beyers so far this year? Two? Aside from the top couple, the rest of the crop is just mush.

The Derby winner will be one of these horses, I have NO DOUBT ABOUT IT...

Eskendeyera, Awesome Act, Lookin At Lucky, Dublin and Sidneys Candy.

An occasional sprinkling of doubt may do you some good.

Indian Charlie 03-29-2010 06:03 PM

Wow, the winner is going to be one of the top choices?
