I love that the Giants Causeway is 5.5 furlongs and is for females.

Ogygian 04-14-2010 07:24 PM

Looks like Connemara is the only one that can get into the Derby with a win in here?

When will the masses start talking about the fact that this Keeneland meet has been atrocious from a field-size quality, and Churchill stands to be even worse?

Alan07 04-15-2010 10:10 PM

The Lexington is the ONLY race this weekend at Keeneland that is somewhat interesting.

When Gulfstream closes? Aren't the big stables there ready to ship over?

I will second that. Way to many six horse fields. It is surprising that with the amount of purse money given out that the field size is so small.

Many of the stables are waiting for Monmouth's opening.... This year is probably different from past (when you went directly from Florida to Kentucky).....

slotdirt 04-17-2010 04:22 PM

That looked like the old Keeneland. Wire jobs in virtually every single race run on the AW track today.

miraja2 04-17-2010 05:15 PM

At the end of the Florida Derby, I thought Rule was more likely to get a piece of my money in the Kentucky Derby than Ice Box. However, my thoughts on that may be begining to change.
After the results of the last couple of weeks (Arkansas Derby, Illinois Derby, and now the race today) it looks increasingly like this year's Derby may be filled with even more hopeless speed horses than usual. A number of things could happen over the next two weeks, but this race is looking more and more like it will set up horribly for Rule and perfectly for Ice Box.

how can you call any of their main track races interesting. the track is an absolute joke , can't wait for the meet to end. i bet the bluegrass as my only bet and that was enough for me. yeah, its a stellar field for 300,000.

I couldn't have expressed my feelings for Keeneland any better than this, without using a lot of words that would get bleeped out here.

Stronach would have found it challenging to come up with a better plan to kill a racetrack.

What tracks do you find interesting? Are there any tracks that suit your intrests? What do you expect the Lexington field to look like with 3 weeks to the derby. Its an absolute joke how you guys whine and complain about tracks. You want 4 or 5 horse fields as long as you have Zenyatta and Rachel Alexander types running in them?
