Kelly's running Upper East Sider on the dirt? Maybe that's why he's a 3% trainer.

What made them run the Ticonderoga last? Odd... Then again, today's feature is on the track now, for the 5th.

The Empire Classic was generally the last race on Showcase Day, right?

For what it's worth these races are solid and should offer great value.

No value at all on the 6th. 7th, the 5,6 look tough Ill back up with 1,7,9. Im must be missing the value on the 8th. I think its all 10,11... Will toss in the 4 just in case. Where is your value? Ill also be making a large bet on Paraiba in the last. Been chasing this girl, trips have been horrible. I need one good late run tomorrow.

Nick Im waiting for your picks on 7th,8th and 10th. Take your time slim.

The three non-stakes might have a grand total of 2 horses at less than 3-1 and if one of them is City Train they can have him.

The two 2YO races are wide-open though Bandbox should be very tough. I can see Crea's Law running well in there. I think the entry will give Straight Story all he can handle. He was far from impressive in the West Point over a very speed-favoring course when he loafed early.

I'm against Meese Rocks tomorrow because she doesn't want a yard more than 6.5 furlongs. If she wins it's because Dominguez is a magician. I do like Lovely Lil as well though. My Dinah can easily win that race.

Friend or Foe should be tough in the Empire Classic but the fact that Kimmel was poised to enter him in two stakes races worth more money and opted out is disconcerting. His entrymate has come out of nowhere and looks like a new horse so that could be F or F's pick me up if he needs it.

The nightcap is wide open, Paraiba deserves another chance I guess but I'm starting to think she just isn't any good and she just fooled everyone in that Delaware race against a crappy field.

Good luck.

Not exactly fair to me to necessarily criticize Kelly here. Yes she was very impressive on the grass, but he tried to get her into the Miss Grillo I think it was but she was an AE, and the condition books at this time of year aren't exactly brimming with 2YO turf allowances and stakes. While this race actually looks like an ok group, her debut was over a wet racetrack against a pretty good field of 2YOs at Saratoga, as well as an open field. She has to be able to run better than that I would think, as well as the fact that she can rate in a race that looks to have a lot of speed. Yeah, she's going to be a good turf horse IMO and a much better grass horse than dirt horse, but he tried to get her in, got stuck on the AE's and looks to be taking a shot for
100K in an NY-bred resticted race. Can't really blame him.

I guess that's a fair point, but this is a wasted spot. This horse is very good on turf. . . he could've shipped out of town.

There was a stake at Keeneland last week and an allowance at Keeneland this week she was eligible for. You're right, there aren't a lot a spots, but either of those had to be better than this.

I'm betting Great Priveledge in the 5th. Mclaughlin is 7 for 20, with an ROI of $3.70 with horses making the second lifetime start, while trying grass for the first time. He gets off the rail, had a little bit of trouble last time and appeared to resist the dirt in the face. I think he runs much better.

He's a half to Silenced who won his turf debut for Lukas here last year. I absolutely love this horse tomorrow.

I picked that horse figuring he would probably be the best price of the contenders...but do you remember the circumstances of Silenced winning his turf debut last year?

Naughty New Yorker is injured and out (retired).

In Te Domine's loss was Silenced's gain.

Hudson Stakes

Ton of speed - Driven, the Rudy Rod juice job, and General Maximus are all wire to wire threats and I believe the contest will be decided on the front end. Give the nod to GM, but will use DoS and have to include the juice.

That's the bitch about this guy - you gotta spread to include even though the horse has no business in the race on paper until the magic man gets his hands on him.

I wonder if Jacobson knew what he was losing 6 back?:zz:

Unreal. 20 point move up:zz::zz:

hockey2315 10-23-2010 04:24 PM

Friend or Foe should've been in something graded.
