Admiral Alex

I thought that was a pretty nice performance today. Do the sheets and figures
Support the visual impression? If so, this could be a really nice horse next year.

Thoughts?

Blu said the Classic was next.

My thought is he is OK at best. I said not to toss him out totally in the Travers because everyone seemed so evenly matched, not because I loved him. He was right there in the turf race, pulled a dream trip and had nothing. So he certainly is not a turf horse. Todays effort, he beat no one, but did it the right way. The handicap division next year is very likely going to be a disaster and he might make some noise.

These days, that's good enough to be considered in the "upper echelon" of the Handicap division.

Just read this interesting quote and thought I'd share...

“This ain’t a good horse, this is a super horse,” Blusiewicz said Monday. “If I had the money, I’d run him in the [Breeders’ Cup] Classic. I’d dare somebody to beat him"

Yeah, well, you sort of have to know Blue.

You mean he's not known for his eloquence?

That's not at all what I meant.

He's extremely confident.

no, but half of them listen to HIS CRAP.....i remember people picking this horse in the travers...they were smart enough to bet him too...he was possibly the biggest travers underlay ever.

randallscott35 10-26-2010 07:00 AM

I'm interested to see him sprint actually. He looked a little rank the other day. Maybe 7 furlongs.

you are not kidding. you can use some of the comments as a sort of "barometer" or "chalk o meter". one guy is an absolute chalk stopper. he gave me the gems of "quality road by 20 in the whitney" and "rachel by 14 in the personal ensign" along with the use "admiral alex in the travers" . these are the things you can't buy from the "touts" or network shills. like gold in the hills.........lol.

I try to stay as unemotionally attached as humanly possible when gaming at ANYTHING!! A ego will let your bankroll slip away to justify why u were right. I'd rather admit im wrong and have the money left in my wallet.:{>:

hey, you make too much sense. i try to pick winners , i could care less who trains, rides or owns. keep reading these threads (arguments). most of these folks are driven by emotion and i think they bet that way. if i talk like this, most of them think i'm an idiot and don't get it or don't want to....bookies, tracks, casinos love emotional people.........you have to be a cold hearted, judgmental (analytical bastard) person to cash in this game.....being a "fan" and arguing over 6-5 shots never paid my bills. i'm guessing that you can handicap a race because you already "got it"....pari mutuel wagering is NOT a popularity contest...its picking the right horse, at the right price, at the right time.. i mostly read this stuff to see what the "crickets" are chirping about as you say. then i comment here and there just to stir the pot and see how many more dumb responeses i can laugh at.....you really want to laugh? check out that political thread section........its full of geniuses......lol
