I agree with you, 100%. Because of the $$, they are breeding for the sales ring and because of that, horses with "pretty" peds may not stay sound long enough for their price to even be paid for. I personally don't understand why they do that, but a horse like Showing Up (for example), a $60k purchase, will be overlooked because of his lack of pedigree. His colts and fillies will probably be overlooked because he doesn't meet the current fad. Makes no sense to me, but money drives everything.
