Can RoundPound beat Fleet Indian ??

Lets hope these two hook up in the distaff.

My question for you. Your opnion who wins this ?

I am crossing my fingers no problems come up in the near future, because I am dying to see these two go at it.

Won't hapeen. Fleet Indian is going to be sold in November. I highly doubt that she runs in the Breeders Cup Distaff.

However, if they did face off in the Distaff, I wouldnt bet either one of them to win. I would prob go with a closer like Balleto. There would be way too much speed in that race for Fleet Indian to go wire to wire and I dont think Round Pound is good enough.

The only question left to be answered by the Indian is if she can rate because shes been making easy leads in slow fractions. I think she can because she has in the past. Shes just so full of herself now and running so easily and running numbers that are so consistent, thats why she hasnt bounced yet. If she has a chink in her armor its that Santos rides her. Shes currently his only meal ticket and riders tend to make mistakes on meal ticket horses in crunch time when the pressures on. hes never been my favorite rider.

Sightseek 09-01-2006 09:21 AM

Neither, I'm going with Pine Island.

Of course shes running in the distaff!!! That sale is after the BC for a reason, because the year is basically done and sellers are gambling that they can get top bucks. Geez Euro wake up!! last year Ashado was announced as being sold in the same sale and she still ran in the BC. What sense does it make to pass up that kinda loot and possibly double the sales value of the horse? Shes running if she has all 4 legs that day.

I also think she can rate but Santos is a minus like you said. But there are some good horses in that division. Pine Island, Bushfire, Balletto, Happy Ticket, Oonagh McCool, Round Pound and Fleet Indian. It would be a real real good race. Not sure if the above horses would show up, but nonetheless it would be a good race.

I have heard this all before. I would not surprised that she doesnt run at all. I would be more surprised if she did run. I give it a 60-40 chance that she doesnt run.

Gander 09-01-2006 09:24 AM

Fleet Indian isnt the only nice horse Santos rides. Are you forgetting about War Front? Somehow he has earned himself the regular jockey of this very promising sprinter from the Chief.

Thanks for that Euro, you better let Todd and the owners know pronto because he says that they are shooting for the BC and a possible championship, LOL!! Noone turns down a lottery ticket like that. Shes a grade one winner and worth a locked in 2.5 mill easily no matter what she does now(thats the incredible bottom going rate for a grade one winning filly on the dirt, can you believe this bloodstock market?). They can double or triple her value if she wins the BCC and teh championshop and pick up another mill or more in purse money if she wins the race. Oh, by the way, she has to be shipped to Kentucky for the sale, thats where CD happens to be. If you are gonna ship for a November sale an hour away from where they run a zillion dollar race where you are gonna be one of the faves in, you usually consider the premise, lol. Shes not a colt Euro, her value can't go any lower, its locked in.

Gander 09-01-2006 09:46 AM

She certainly has improved since Pletcher took her. Not that she was chopped liver before that, but her improvement is crazy good. That race the other day at Saratoga was a total joke. I saw harness races later on in the evening more entertaining than that.

I know the value is locked in, but she is worth nothing if she injures herself and is put down. If it is locked in, then why even take the chance. That is my point. I don't care what Pletcher says or does. We all know you cant believe a trainer in this game. I still think it is 60-40 she doesnt race. And she will go for more than $2.5.

Euro you are being stubborn and obviously don't understand the bloodstock side of the game. Shes insured Euro, geez. If she goes down they still get the cash. Other than that they only have UPSIDE! Colts and horses can diminish in stud value with bad efforts, mares don't. Shoot once theyw in a grade one the first thing you do is call the bloodstock insurance agent and raise the value of the insurance.
Umm, you seeing the point?

Buffymommy 09-01-2006 09:59 AM

I'm with Sightseek. Pine Island.

I know all of this. I own horses which you dont so I know about the insurance. I am not going to debate you on this as you cant tell me something that I already dont know. I just have a feeling she wont being going in the Distaff. That is all, plain and simple.

Now that she has gotten over her 2nditis, she is going to keep winning.

I have to agree with that 100%. Once a horse of her talent learns to win, it seems like they go on a huge streak. She sure did look good in her last race. I think that she will get a real nice pace to run at in the Distaff too. The race fits perfectly for her.

OOOHHHH, I see. Well I purchased a grade one winner as agent, you haven't, and since one of the owners explained to me about what she was appraised at after her grade one win for insurance purposes, I kinda know how it works.

eurobounce 09-01-2006 10:36 AM

Does anyone know anything about Happy Ticket? I havent seen her since the race at Churchill?

Oracle, you dont pay the bills. I dont care what you bought. Being an agent and actually having the financial reponsibility of paying the bills is two different things. Why dont you own any part of a horse?
