Weekend of September 2nd

California (-2) at Tennessee

Usually not a huge fan of playing road favorites but Cal is getting some good pub from ESPN about National title hopes and Tennessee has been down the last couple of years. Not a game to go NUTS on.

California (-2) for 30(+3) units

Florida State (+3.5) at Miami-Florida (Monday Night)

This game is always a dogfight and with the line at 3.5, I will take the off chance that either team will win the game by a FG, thus giving me a win. I also think FSU is loading up to possibly send Bobby out with a HUGE season

Florida State (+3.5) for 50(+5) units

Total Units used: 88 units
New Bankroll: 412 units

I'm with you on FSU (going to the game).

Can't see giving them up at Tenn. Good luck there.

lock of the week is Rutgers +5 against GPK's Tarheels

Fager's upset special

Scav 09-02-2006 09:59 AM

Just found out

that Cal was a TWO POINT DOG in this game 2 weeks ago....While I am not changing my units, I will be changing my real bet to three times what I was unloading...

oracle80 09-02-2006 10:13 AM

Notre Dame rolls, they will score on every posession. Wait until they bust out the new playbook Weis has installed, defensive coordinators will be calling the suicide hotline.

Don't mean to brag, but...6-3 against the spread first week of the season ain't bad
I'll listen to you big city boys on some things, but ya'll betta listen to a southern boy when he's talkin' college football!

OK. This is flat out silly.
Here is the deal. This is NOT profootball. These are kids with very different talent levels. On defense if you have SPEED, DEPTH, and a good coach the goods are present. Lets quit trying to make college football into some chess match. Overanalyzing BS.

The basics. Georgia Tech has speed, depth, and a good coach on defense. You can draw up all the plays you want, but if you dont block the other team because they are FAST, and can bring in fresh players, the X's and O's dont work. Cmon double reverses on the sandlot dont work if the other team decides to rush. Silliness.

Very nice job. The only one I really liked was Tennessee. They always have talent.
ANd I was scared of the Tennessee game for one basic reason. Last year they would fold if one thing went wrong. They have talent, but no guts. And that is very much a reflection of the coaching staff. Playing at home, with 100,000 folks SEC football against the Pac-10 (no D put all your team speed on offense) is usually a take. But Tennessee... I saw this game and it just looked yummy but I thought if things went poorly to start, they would fold. Things went very, very well. Tennessee still has a lot to prove for me. This would be a bet against team for me based on their fundamental lack of grit. WE wait.

Well, the Cal game was a disappointment and I am actually pissed at myself for this wager because it was partially swayed by Lee Corso talked about them in the National Title game. I never listen to those guys and the line was fishy as it was, a bad play on my end. FSU, while giving me a heart attack, did come through for me and we end the weekend on a positive note, always a good thing

Games I am looking at for this coming weekend are Virginia -9 at home against Wyoming, Oregon -5 at Fresno State and Notre Dame -7.5 at home against Penn State.

NFL Games I am looking at are Bears -3.5 at Packers and Cincy +3 at Kansas City

Weekend record: 1-1(+17 units)
CFB Record: 1-1(+17 units)
NFL Record: 0-0
Yearly Total: 1-1
New Bankroll: 517 units

Scav 09-07-2006 11:02 AM

Weekend starting 9/7/06 until 9/11/06

CFB Record: 1-1(+17 units)
NFL Record: 0-0
Yearly Total: 1-1
Bankroll: 517 units

We are going to start this weekend off with a play on Thursday night, and NO,it isn't the NFL. While I liked Miami when the line was +4, I am not a fan of it at +1, their is no give in that line and they basically have to win the friggin game. Not a fan of lines taking a road dog when the line is between 1 and 2.5, I like having that 3pt cushion if I am taking the points.

Oregon State (+7.5) at Boise State

While I do not know much about OSU, I do know that this is the 2nd year for coach Mike Reilly(of Charger fame) and I know they are returning alot of starters. I also know that they have a serious running game and can control a game like this.

Oregon State (+7.5) for 40(+4) units

Total units used: 44
New Bankroll: 473 units

Will add Saturday CFB and Sunday NFL plays on Friday/Saturday morning

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:42 AM.
