too bad for the kids. why women choose bad men, stay with them when this happens, and have kids with them is beyond me.

As for women, Danzig, I read a theory once that women, deep down, want to be dominated.

Its f'n ridiculous. There is no denying these sob's are tough guys, but I just wish they would have to go three rounds with a 6 foot dude that is a trained killer so they realize the damage they are doing.

Me? I'm a personal fan of freedom of choice and people being responsible for themselves. I want nothing to do with people who either want to be dominant, or want to be dominated.

After watching idiotic behavior from both men and women for about 40 years (I am 44), that theory I mentioned above often times does seem to explain what are otherwise inexplicable choices.

Obviously, not all women make those same poor choices over and over and over, ad nauseum.

How about dressing them up as SF Giants fans and putting them into the bleachers with Scuds?

Quick story, I am one of those people that when I'm talking, my hands are flying around. I have a friend that I have known for about 6-7 years. One day I was talking with her and my hands were flying and she flinched, I thought nothing of it until she flinched again. Later that day, she pulled me aside and said "I know you like to talk with your hands, but is there anyway you can limit it when we are talking, it scares me"

She then proceeded to tell me about her past how she got hit from a boyfriend and was finally coming to grip with it and although she knew I was harmless, it stired up hard memories and that is why she was flinching.

It is so much more about the psychological part then it is the physical.

I totally agree about it being psychological.

I do not think this should be an opportunity to bash all jockeys, as some have taken the chance to do. The 2 recent cases if the charges are true then these 2 individuals are IDIOTS and hopefully will get what's coming to them! But they are not alone, plenty of fellow dirtbags who abuse their women and children walking around society as a whole. It's disgusting to me.
How bout a little praise for from what i can gather is a fine example of a family man in Ramon Dominguez. Let's just hope this recent couple of cases are not a trend that continues.

Obviously, this is a cultural thing...domestic violence seems counter-intuitive to me, folks supposedly come together out of love...if you really love someone, hurting them should be the last thing you'd ever do. This, "I love you but if you do something that angers me, I gotta hurt (or worse) you" just is something I've never been able to comprehend.

I would tell her I'd do it if she worked on one of her flaws. See how that b.itch likes being told.

I be willing to bet that in 90%+ of the cases alcohol or drugs are involved. Those things cloud judgement, but it still has to be in a person to do it.

I think the bayou way of living has a lot to do with this. Plus you have to be a little off your rocker to be a jockey.

I debated even saying anything here cause I was afraid I'd overtalk if that's a word but I want to just point out that that's not what Doreen was saying. Not in a mean or bitchy way... it's just I know exactly what she meant.

I'm 5'1", my ex was 6'2" so when he hit me (occassionally) and beat me (twice and this is so not a pity party. Honestly I should send him a thank you note for leaving me years ago although at the time it was really really hard)... being educated and having 2 small children, etc., I did exactly what a lot of women do.

Looking back I have no idea why this was my mindset but at the time? Maybe it's embarrassment or you feel in some sick way you deserve it... you're afraid if someone finds out he'll get you back, it'll make things worse... I mean I honestly don't understand myself but that was my reality. Keep my mouth shut.

The second time he really beat me where it was pretty bad I was driving and went to the ER cause I felt like I was going to pass out. I didn't kow what else to do... my kids were little and in the car and I didn't want to call anyone.

I didn't know that if you tell a doctor by law they have to tell the cops.

So that's what happened and it was long and drawn out, he went to court, restraining order, etc and on and on.

Honestly, looking back and being totally honest there were times I probably - not had it coming but made it even worse.

He'd say that's how mad I made him... basically his actions were my fault (idiot) and while this is complete bullshit I'm sure there were times I made it worse, added to it, got disgusted and acte like a complete bitch, made him even more mad...

To be fair, I think this is what Doreen means.

Of course his wife doesn't deserve this - none of us do - but she's probably not Mother Teresa and neither am I and we'e not all meek little flowers who can't imagine why these monsters are doing this to us when were 100 percent innocent.

Maybe she's a difficult person or a complete bitch or whatever... Doreen was just throwing that into the equation and I really do see her point.

It doesn't mean she had it coming.
