The Met Mile field looks awesome! What a fun group.

slotdirt 05-23-2011 10:34 AM

That's a nice, little Met Mile field. Looking forward to that.

hoovesupsideyourhead 05-23-2011 10:52 AM

tacklberry is a very nice horse.

pgiaco 05-23-2011 12:29 PM

Add Loyal Shadow to Mount Vernon possibles.

South Beach Luv 05-23-2011 12:38 PM

Very nice and surprised to see Sidney's Candy outside of CA

Storm Cadet 05-23-2011 12:57 PM

ANY DT'ers planning on heading out Monday? Might go early and grab a table by the paddock area if we put a group together and the weather is nice! :)

ateamstupid 05-23-2011 01:03 PM

If that ends up being the Met Mile field, that's a terrific group.

Is Friend Or Foe actually going to ever start again or did Kimmel go "all in" for the NYRA Mile late last year?

Gate Dancer 05-23-2011 03:10 PM

Very interested to see how Naples Bay handles the class test..................

dalakhani 05-23-2011 04:47 PM

Can't you see the met mile completely falling apart with all of that pace? Probably the best dirt race of the year so far.

I don't know what you mean. It's pretty much just Haynesfield and Morning Line with serious speed and neither of them are need-the-lead types.

Rodman, Stormy's Majesty, Tackleberry, Tizway should all be interested in the lead as well. However, it's not like in years past when a speed horse was stretching out and ensured a white hot pace.

Morning Line won't run

Morning Line, winner of the Grade 1 Carter Handicap last month at Aqueduct, will not run in Monday’s Metropolitan Handicap as scheduled, due to a foot issue, trainer Nick Zito confirmed Thursday afternoon.

Tackelberry is one tough horse. He gets no respect at the windows but runs his A game every time

Travis Stone 05-26-2011 10:18 PM

Duke of Mischief is going to the Cornhusker I believe... sad about Morning Line... still an awesome race though, always one of the best on the circuit each year.

It will be interesting to see. Diva Ash flattered her in winning the Edgewood earlier this month. I'm a huge fan of Winter Memories, but I'm not fully convinced she has to win this at such a short price and could be worth playing against in the late 4.

I'm a little biased as the breeder (original owner of Medalia D`Oro) of this horse lives here in Great Falls but she should be in the hunt at the end. She has been handled very conservatively but has the right running style to make the jump. I agree about Winter Memories but it will be interesting who sets the pace as most in here appear to be stalkers. Could be a sprint to the wire.
