70 Beyer for Flashy Lassie Saturday, but the better looking filly may have shown up Sunday from Davey Carroll in Givhans Ferry. Bred to route by Congaree out of a Seeking the Gold mare, Mrs. Alexander's WinStar bred chestnut (KEE SEP 10-$95k) ground past foes in the stretch of her off the turf 5f debut earning a 75 BSF in the process. Carroll, who has 24 juveniles in the barn out of 29 horses (!), will consider a Saratoga visit with the filly who he expects will ultimately route on the lawn.

I was torn with this filly because of the breeding as you mentioned above that says 5f is probably too short, but I ended up including her because of Mr Carrolls prowess with firsters.

Only a partial redboard because my ticket went down in flames when Demure Halo won the next race. Consos did not cover the ticket cost. :o

Quite a story by Marty McGee about Flashy Lassie trainer Gary Simms and his fight against deadly, painful myeloma. Added backdrop of this is McGee's own upcoming surgery for prostate cancer.
