Today's 8th at Belmont

I really like Spite the Devil in this spot. While very inconsistent throughout the years, he loves Belmont (6 time winner here) and although there doesnt appear to be tons of speed in here, I think Organizer will go and try to keep Indian Hawke honest, which will ensure a fast pace. West Virginia looms the one to beat on figures but I think this is clearly a prep and 1 mile isnt exactly his calling.

I just don't see WV getting beat...

Me neither. This is terrible placement for him, he could have won the Woodward if they'd pointed him there.

Not on that day he couldnt have. Nobody in the race but Sun King closed, and even his rally you could tell wasnt nearly enough. That was all speed and West Virginia doesnt have any.

Pinnacle has a head to head for this race

Organizer +105
Naughty New Yorker -121

With Indian Hawke having scratched, Organizer should get a very easy trip on the front end. I expect WV to go by, but no one else. He is 8 for 8 in the exacta at Belmont while NNY is only 2 for 7 in the exacta. Okay, I've jinxed that one...

The Brooklyn on Saturday is coming up with a CRAP field and a bigger purse than this. I'm very surprised Pletcher isnt going there...

West Virginia doesn't sit that far off the pace. Speed held cause Wanderin Boy scratched and Suave got swallowed up so the leaders got to set reasonable fractions and the only capable closer in the race was Sun King who likes to throw up a clunker every other race.
