The San Pasqual looks like a prep for the Grade 3 Berkeley at Golden Gate, not the Big Cap.

You know you're hurting when the absence of Kettle Corn in the lineup affects the quality of the race...

The Ass FTS, Welter Weight, in the sixth looks reaaaaaaaaaaaallll interesting.

With those works, pedigree, connections and 7 figure price tag, that horse should get a ton of attention.

Bolton was on HRTV on the morning of opening day talking the horse up. He seemed to think he could run.

Those 111 gates works seem to indicate that as well.

Could be Macleans Music 2012!

I don't feel one way or another about the Sham but i sure as hell hope you're right about Mr. Tres Borrachos, Esquire.

Love that guy. That would be awesome if he won.

Didn't see it but glad he won for you.

Good boy anyway, 3 drunks. :)

Good luck to Scarface tomorrow.

Nice race in the Sham. Who'd have thunk a Discreet Cat could run like that?

Reminded me of the 2001 BC Distaff.

Except Out of Bounds' trip was a bit better than his dam's was that day. In fact, Out of Bounds' trip today was phenomenal.

Yeah, there weren't enough horses in today's race to give Out Of Bounds a remote chance as having as a bad a trip.

However, the bare bones of the respective running lines (ie settling behind the first flight, sitting down inside, waiting for room, swinging out, and closing with a rush) are similar.

I watched the replays back-to-back, if you use an imaginascope, their strides even looked similar.

No doubt it was a soft trip, but it was impressive that he was able to sit back like that, on the rail, with horses on his outside. I've seen enough lightly raced horses unravel with similar rides.

The Santa Anita track is a lot faster now than you'll ever remember it.

Keep in mind -- A couple of 25K claimers photo'd in 1:14 flat going 6.5f's last week.

Yeah, I know.

Hell, SA is almost always really fast to open up their meet.

SCUDSBROTHER 01-08-2012 07:42 PM

Who was that lil horse that won the Daytona?
