Antitrust32 05-08-2012 01:32 PM

NOW we know why James came up soft in the finals last year.

Miami fans around the globe are weeping right now.

Just missed, a call here or there and you had it.

The Bid 05-15-2012 07:56 AM

I guess okc playoffs start in the next round because the lakers won't be around long. Mike Brown was once again out prepared and his players have him minimum effort less Kobe.

All the thunder had to do was miss 15 shots or so. Very exciting times for thunder fans.

This is where the Buss lovefest goes under the microscope. Coach Rerun gets walking papers soon.

King James

The past few nights I saw three guys that WANTED to take the last shot. One plays for the Lakers, one for OKC, and the other for Miami. None of them are named James.

Isn't the son now running the show? I'm not sure he has the smarts his dad did. The Chris Paul fiasco would have never happened under Jerry's watch in my opinion. Instead they still have the Incredible Disappearing Gasol and Ramon "I'm not allowed to play in the 4th Q" Sessions.

He didn't want any part of shooting the ball in the finals last year either. He kept dishing the ball like it was a hand grenade.

Im surprised I havent seen Kobe's gaffe last night mentioned ANYWHERE. He threw a crybaby tantrum after Blake missed that three and in doing so cost his team a second/sec & a half on the clock. He shouldve went to foul, even if the buzzer sounded.

I don't know that Buss Sr did anything but sign checks. It is hard to hang blame on the Lakers end of the Paul fiasco. Trading Odom and Gasol for Paul sure looks like it would have been a great deal in hindsight.

Kobe has been terrible at times this year (compared to his typical self). The tread on his tires is starting to show. I'm sure he will play but he should probably sit out the olympics this summer.

From what little I've read on the Lakers...

The son is in charge now. He doesn't want to spend money on the team. This essentially means the Shaq/Kobe mini-dynasty is over. At least 5-10 years of mediocrity.

He had plenty of gaffes in the last 2 minutes. First, he threw the ball away for easy 2 for Durant. Then a pass went through his hands (not all his fault). The worse though was getting the ball with 14 seconds left and dribbling away 8 of it in no man's land when OKC had a FOUL TO GIVE. Waiting to take the last shot when trailing in the game is one of the worst statistical strategies possible. You basically give yourself one chance instead of 2 or even 3.

Kobe is the best contested jump shot maker in history. Unfortunately for him, that is about all he gets against good teams these days.
