On the Turf at Belmont?

Haven't seen the changes yet, anyone know if the turf races at Belmont will stay today??

Can't believe they won't. There was no rain last night....at least in the city.

Thanks, BTW. Wasn't sure about the weather or if Belmont had sorted out its turf problems from the start of the meet.

NYRA website is still slow but it is getting better I remember a few times they didn't post the changes until after the 1st race

Fast and good as of about 10am. This from the racing office. No scratches or changes yet at 11:30 is a bit of a pain.

They just ran the first at Belmont and although the favorite and a logical horse did indeed run 1-2, it still appears to me that the outside paths on the main track may be where you wanna be today. Fractions were soft and inside speed collapsed and noone made a good run on the rail.
Pay attention to the next dirt race or two if you are playing later in the card today, my gut feeling is that outside is where you wanna be.

Watch for horses who attempted the sweeping move at Saratoga to no avail. many looked like they were moving into contention only to flatten out. That move plays well at BEL was was certain death at the Spa this summer.

Even though I know they have had trouble so far with the turf at this meet but besides that why is NYRA so quick to pull races off the Turf especially at Saratoga. It rains just as much if not more in Europe and they are never pulled. Why do they jump the gun so much?

European meets are shorter and they can rip up the grass and not care. Also, jockeys in NY refuse to ride on anything thats far from perfect.

It gets very frustrating when you see blue skies and a perfect day at the perfect track( the spa ) and all races are pulled off the turf because of overnight rain and you see all the scratches.
