Who trained Lake George in the 1995 Kentucky Derby?

Pupye I think? But the race is named after the actual lake not the horse I believe

It was Jason Orman of Rock Hard Ten fame.

The Curlin is Friday. I wish at least 3 of them were in the Dandy. I would give them a big shot over Gemologist.

Uh yeah but the race is still named after the lake/town not the horse of the same name

The chart for that race (and his next start, 6-26-95) list "Orman, J." as the trainer. That would be Jason, right? Plus I remember it being Jason.

It's a beautiful lake, well deserving of the honor, both of the race and the horse being named after it.

I believe the horse is actually now pulling tourists around in a cart around the lake

Lake George was one of the most beautiful race horses I ever saw.

Is it my imagination, or was Better Lucky tons the best today?

I think the winner was probably 4th or 5th best all things considered. Better Lucky ran huge and so did Medolina who was way too close to the pace.

I didn't think there was any chance that Better Lucky would still be around at the end of the race. After that trip, I thought for sure a fade in the stretch was likely, but that sustained run was pretty damn impressive. Too bad 15-1 won't be available again.
