Justice Kagan rocks her 80s pop music

Honestly, this could just as easily go in Esoteric- I thought this was hilarious. From Kagan's written opinion American Trucking Association v. City of Los Angeles:

Quote:

Under that contract, a company may transport cargo at the Port in exchange for complying with various requirements. The two directly at issue here compel the company to (1) affix a placard on each truck with a phone number for reporting environmental or safety concerns (You’ve seen the type: “How am I driving? 213–867–5309”) and (2) submit a plan listing off-street parking locations for each truck when not in service.

And also, I feel old. And thanks a lot for the earworm, Justice Kagan!

There is a plumbing company here in Indy that advertises on TV all the time and they use the number 317-867-5309 and sing it CONSTANTLY in the commercial.

Stays in your head forever!

I'm curious if they acquired the rights legally- music rights are really expensive.

And yeah, that song does stick in your head. Though, since my son has been demanding to hear the theme from Superman: The Movie all this week, I'm so grateful to have something besides, "Dunh, dunh dah dunh DUHN dunh duhn. Dunh dunh da dunh DUNH DA DUNNNNNH!" going through my head right now I could cry.
