haven't seen any word yet on charges, etc. but the patriots have released him.

Someone here on the board must've dubbed him 'the next great thing' a few weeks ago!

Sure is different than the way the Ravens handled Ray Lewis.

dellinger63 06-26-2013 01:53 PM

Maybe he'll get picked up by the Mean Machine?

hoovesupsideyourhead 06-26-2013 02:02 PM

that's just ghetto..

Danzig 06-26-2013 02:02 PM

charged with murder. doubt anyone's picking him up anytime soon:

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was formally charged Wednesday afternoon with murder, more than a week after a body was found near his Massachusetts home.

Hernandez was also charged with several counts of unlawful possession of firearms.

Hernandez, 23, was placed in handcuffs and put in a police cruiser just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday by Massachusetts State Police and North Attleborough police. Authorities have searched his home, on the Rhode Island line not far from the Patriots' stadium, several times over the past week.

Hernandez was being arraigned at Attleboro District Court.

It was a business decision. Unlike Lewis, he's not going to be able to plea down by testifying against someone else. When he goes to jail they can get his signing bonus recouped.

From watching the trial, It was also very clear-cut Ray Lewis didn't murder anyone.

I mean 0.00% chance Ray Lewis murdered anyone...though almost certainly a person partying in his company did.

Hernandez is in MUCH more trouble than Lewis ever was. This wasn't the case of a wild fight breaking out at 3 AM, and a couple of thugs getting carved up with crazy hunting knifes in a wild melee.

This involves guns, cooling off time, and murder. And video surveillance will probably come into play because of the nice area where Hernandez lives.

Not to mention all the evidence the guy appears to have destroyed, in trying to cover up his tracks. 23 years old, huge contract, bright future it's a damn shame to throw it all away, or so it would appear.

What a dumbass. I can see why he fell all the way into the 4th round.

He, Percy Harvin, and Louis Murphey helped create the Tebow myth at Florida.

I was a Patriots fan at the start of his rookie season. They drafted Gronk and Hernandez together, both rookies at the same time.

In every pre-season game, Gronk and Hernandez stood out and got open. This clown looked every bit as good as Gronk as a receiving Tight End. He wasn't near as good at blocking, Gronk was a sensational blocker in that pre-season.

Drafting Gronk and Hernandez together looked like it was going to go down as one of the genius Patriots moves ... now one of them is a crippled tard and the other is headed for the big leagues of Gangsta Life.

Couldn't agree more!

well, good to know we don't need to bother with the farce of a trial.

Alabama Stakes 06-27-2013 08:07 AM

he'll get his trial, jury will deliberate for an hour, grab lunch and give the guilty verdict.

Apparently, Hernandez is now being investigated for the possible connection to a double murder that took place in Boston in 2012. :zz:

saw about the arrest earlier. i'm sure there will be more. question is, who gets the plea deal and starts talking first? once someone blabs, it's a whole new ballgame.
