Blame's First Winner - Caval

This is the first good Blame 2 year old that I've seen. The ones at the 2 year old sales were horrible. I must have seen 10-15 of them and I didn't see one good one.

A couple of the new sires' offspring were extremely disappointing. Both Blame and Eskenderaya's 2 year olds worked very poorly. The Super Savers, on the other hand, worked very well.

Warriors Reward with another big winner today! He's got 1 in a stakes at Churchill tomorrow. Warriors Reward and Eskendereya 2 of my all time favorite horses.

Yes, Warrior's Reward is off to a great start. He's been on fire so far. With regard to Eskenderaya, I loved him as a racehorse but I don't like what I've seen at all of him so far as a sire. You get to see a pretty nice sample size at the 2 year old sales and when you see 10-20 horses from a sire and practically none of them look like they can run, it's not a very good sign.

Blame has a 2 year old filly that worked really fast at the Keeneland April Sale and had a pretty nice way of going. I hadn't seen that video until now. She is probably the best one (by Blame) that I've seen. She's running tomorrow (Sunday) at Churchill. I don't know how she will run. Her work was on the synthetic and the race is on the dirt. In addition, she is from a consignor who trains them really hard so I don't know if she's still in one piece.

What did you think of the Quality Roads?

A few of them have been ok but overall I have been disappointed.

I don't love him as a potential great sire. Even though I also loved him as a runner. Eskendereya on the other hand, kinda surprised that his have not looked good. On paper hes the total package.

Raced awfully well after a rough start. The Lukas horse can obviously run as well...his 1st-timers don't usually look like that.

Yes, the Lukas filly was impressive. She was geared down. She could have won by more. They paid a lot of money for her. They bought her as a yearling for $435,000. As you said, DWL rarely wins first time out. He was 1 for 40 going into this race.

The Blame filly ran a decent second. As you said, she broke last and then she was in a drive all the way around the turn. After making that big wide move, she looked like she flattened out a little bit the final 1/16th of a mile, which is what you would expect with that kind of a trip.

They were both really good horses. I would have thought that they both would be good potential sires. I wouldn't have been nearly as high on Super Saver. But I think Super Saver is actually by far the best looking of the three. That is why I always check with people in Kentucky. It's always good to know which horses have the best conformation. The ones with the good conformation have a better chance of producing horses with good conformation. Not that that always matters. The Tapits are nothing special to look at but they are great horses. It's definitely not an exact science. That is for sure.

Belmont, Race 3 this upcoming Friday.
650k Super Saver baby for Tony Dutrow. 3 blah works then the obvious tightener. Based on the work, the price, the jockey and the trainers stats at the meet the horse might be odds on.

I hate Eskendereya's conformation. Too downhill.

The Lukas filly(Take Charge Brandi) runs tomorrow (Friday) in the Schuylerville at Saratoga. I think she has a big shot in there. She'll be a good price too.
