Oh well
Rock Hard Ten was right. Sometimes we see a race that just makes us tingle, then we never see it again. I think this one has enough of my money. Maybe this one will run another like that first one at some point and pay big and drive me off my rocker. I wouldn't be surprised.
I had a horse once who was pretty talented. Not world-class, but good enough to be an ALC winner at Parx and possibly minor stakes placed. Only problem was that he was lazy, but smart and figured out he got fed and cared for the same whether he won or lost. He just used to loaf in races, although he had more talent than the others. He'd come back dry and cool and not even breathing hard. One day he got hit with a clump of mud in the face during a race while running dead last. He pinned his ears and ran past the whole field at 20-1.
After that he even ran even farther back. I gave him to a girl who tried to get him doing eventing, but he was too lazy at that too. She gave him to a lady who just does casual trail rides and he's fine with that. If he gets tired he just heads back home.
So horses can be like people. I'm going to avoid the Shopper going forward.
