Hey Steve, going to Saratoga tomorrow. What do I need to get into the paddock for pals race? Thanks

pweizer 08-14-2014 04:17 PM

Darn, wish I had more notice but can't get off work now.

Great to see the Pal back in action.

Paul

Paul.. Ideally, Pal will run back quickly after this tightener, so you should get a 2nd chance before Labor Day.

Good Luck DT! Safe trip for all.......

So much for that plan.. Pal wrenched his right knee -- (Dylan felt him sink down in a soft spot midstretch) -- and has to go on the vet's list. This will make it nearly impossible to run back.

Cuse Fan 08-15-2014 05:46 PM

So sorry to hear this. I know you'll give us an update once you get more info from the vet, but is this normally the type of injury that would put him back on the shelf til next spring or is there still a chance he could race once they go back to Belmont?

Hoping to hear good news....

Kasept 08-16-2014 11:37 AM

Pal better this morning and walked smoothly. Sent back to Belmont and will look to 7f-8.5f early on downstate. If you watch the replay, you can see where it happened at the 16th at the tire tracks for the starting gate.

Thanks for the update Steve, really glad it wasn't more serious and hope to see him back this fall, it's been a tough road for Pal this summer :(

Kasept 08-17-2014 06:01 AM

It's the knee that was operated on but the issue with it is unusual. Gets balky and he'll jog/walk 'off' but just as quickly get back to moving fine.
